Weather Tech Floor Mats
Weather Tech Floor Mats
Anyone in the market for floor mats should give the new WeatherTech Floorliner mats from Mac Neill a look. When I bought my 07 GT vert this past summer I tried to buy these mats but they were unavailable for the Mustang, however, I recently checked and they are now available for 05-07 in gray, tan and black. I just received mine this past weekend and installed them. The fit is like a hand in a glove to include a contoured rise in the mat to match the shape of the floor. They appear to be indestructible, their site is

Funny you should post these. I've been seeing their ad in basically EVERY car magazine out there and have been thinking about seeing if they sell them. My Pony mats are getting beat pretty good, and while I want another set from CJ's, I'll use them for shows only. These Weather Tech mats would be perfect for normal use. Thanks for the heads up. BTW, got any pics of them installed in your car. Their site only has a generic pic. Thanks for the info.
Do you have any pics of the Floorliner installed on the front driver area? I want to see how much coverage they offer for the "dead pedal" area. I will buy the front row set if it covers all of the dead pedal carpet area.
I ordered my GT with the factory all-weather mats (it was cheaper to buy it using X-Plan when ordering the car) and have been happy with the mats, except for the minimal coverage they offer over the dead pedal.

Are yours short too? Meaning they dont reach under the gas, brake, and clutch?
Yes, but they have enough coverage that I won't wear out my carpet unless I start using the dead pedal area (the part of the carpet left of the clutch pedal). I usually rest my left foot there when I'm not using the clutch. So far, I haven't found a SINGLE floor mat that covers that area completely. I don't understand what the big deal is either - just make the mats larger to cover that spot.
I wouldn't just go out and buy them just yet. Unless they cover the dead pedal area completely, they're not significantly better than the Ford all-weather mats. I don't understand why it is so hard to make a liner/mat that covers the dead pedal area.
Ford includes a nice rubber/vinyl dead pedal covering for the 2007 Taurus rental car, and the Pontiac G6 even has a dead pedal cover. Ford chooses to use carpeting on the Mustang... which will easily soil and wear out for those with manual transmissions.

I usually dont worry about that part. The carpet is bound to wear sooner or later, Usually the part where my heels rest is the only part that gets worn. Ill just buy new mats.

The Weather Tech Floor Mats are available from other vendors but I haven't seen much if any of a price difference. The mats cover about half of the dead prddle area. I will try to get some pictures soon.
Ron...Thanks for the information. I immediately ordered a set and they came this morning at 0830 by FedEx. Perfect fit, and the light gray looks really nice with the Black/Dove interior.

Sorry guys, I tried posting a pic, and the system kept telling me I was not connected to the WEB!
As for the dead pedal area, it goes about a quarter of the way up the carpeted area. Because of the snow here, I would have liked to see it go further up.
But, I think if I am careful getting into and out of the car, it should be alright. Certainly much better then the other so called winter mats I have used.

I'm switching to these as soon as I get some spare cash. I've already worn a hole into my factory all weather mats where my heal rests. If the heal area was actually 1/2 inch thick instead of 1/8 with honey comb on the back I probably wouldn't have noticed.
The weather tech mats are a poly-vinyl so it should stand up to more abuse, and it won't stain as easily as the factory rubber mats.
