Just wondering if production is supposed to be ramped up to meet demand for this model year? Are we going to ever see a plentiful supply of GT's on the lots so we don't have to deal with the dealer's attempted rapes anymore? I really thought by the end of the 2005 year the sticker markups and selling at MSRP would come to a halt.

Maybe this time next year... just in time for the even rarer Shelby Cobra.

Dealer Notifications of Material Hold Items:
(Low - On Hand, Med - Could delay build, High - Trouble getting parts)

MED 18" Wheel (64E) U.S/CDN
MED GT Manual Transmission (99H, 44K) U.S/CDN
MED Total GT (99H) U.S/CDN
HIGH 18" Premium Aluminum Wheel (64W) Late Availability U.S.

According to the above quote from Kzinti over at Blue Oval products for the 06 are already potentially slowing production. I hope mine gets out the door before they run out.

I really woudn't count on it for at least another year. Just remember, Ford's production percentages of GT's are only around 35%, so it is going to be a long while till you see several GT's on every dealers lots. Just think about how many people who ordered 2005 models, and got bumped to 2006's. Add them to the list of thousands who ordered 2006's just in the past several months. The one good thing about this, is it will keep the car's value high.

Exact reason why I chose now to order a 06 and sell my 05....value. Just check autotrader. Even used ones are still selling for near MSRP.

One problem with checking places like Autotrader, eBay, local classifides, and even dealer lots, is they only show what people are "asking" for the cars. It's not a good way to know what they are selling for.

Ever heard of Brandon Ford? I think they have something like over 10 Mustangs on the lot at all times. Last time I checked, they had around 60, 10-20 GTs.

That's a great dealer site, thanks for mentioning it. Too bad I can't find a local dealer with that inventory! Oh well, I'm still about 4 months away from ordering mine. Sucks too, because they have a Vista Blue with Charcoal interior EXACTLY the way I'd order it.

Actually, with e-bay you can find out exactly what they actually sold for. Just choose "completed auctions" in your search

You won't see any new GT's on lots for a long while.
You might get lucky and see one here or there, but their still hot and I believe getting hotter. You will see quite a few used ones showing up next year when people start anticipating the '07's. Even the V-6's don't last long around me.

I would have to agree. My dealers are the same I have 6 local to me and none of them ever have more then one or two V6's (the get 5-6 every delivery) and IF you see a GT it's in the back getting ready to be detailed for sale because it's an order.

The initial GT production was 32%.
In Feb 05 GT production was upped to 38%.
38% GT production is also the build plan for 06, however parts shortages could change that.

An auto industry analist predicted just after the 05 Mustang came out that GTs would be in short supply until March 06. Can't wait to see if he is right.

My dealer said the manual has kept me from serializing the past two weeks, until people get tired of them, there will be problems for awhile.

I just ordered on 8/17, serialized 8/18, scheduled to be built week of 9/5(Labor Day, Uh Oh) GT Manual w/ all options.

As I spent this saturday going from dealer to dealer in Central Florida trying to see a Tungsten Grey Car. I saw a lot of GTs sitting on Lots, and they were brand new 05s, one or two were 06s that hadnt been sold yet. Each dealer had atleast 8 Gts and 3X as many v6. I sure hope the market doesnt become flooded just as I get my new stang.

I hope I dont get caught up in a hold either.

Yeah. Sorry to hear you had some trouble. I can't get them to write back to my emails. I got one response and haven't had one since.

I got to the serialization part just have not moved since. The ERL lady tells me that I am still scheduled to be built week of the 29th, and I am hoping it does not get held up. I never thought I could get so stressed out over waiting on a car.

That's the first sign not to deal w/them.I talked to a sales personally, handed him my # and he told me he would definitely get back with me..Never called back.I called a month later and thats when they tried to screw me.I had a great experience with Bill Currie in Tampa.Took x-plan and my salesman seems to be bending over backwards for me..
