Water on Door Sills

I was wondering if anybody else's Door sills get wet after rain or washing. I'm talking about where the plastic part is with the plate that says MUSTANG. I looked at the door gasket and it looks like this should be sealed and stay dry. Thanks in advance!

Yup, when I wash the car the door sils are always wet when I open the doors. Don't know if thats a bad thing or not.

This area is outside the primary door to body weatherstrip. The water comes from around the front door areas-nothing to worry about.

I had the same issue today and this area is in fact inside the primary door sill and should not be getting wet. I'm doing some research now to find out if this is a known issue. Mike

Me too. More water accumulates on the passenger side. When I open the door, the water spills out.

The driver side is okay.

Mine too. I took it to the dealer and they said it was common and they would replace the gaskets. I should get it back tomorrow night so I'll let you know how it turns out.

Can you tell us exactly what was done to fix it? Every time I wash my car I spray different areas to figure out how the water is getting in. I thin I know now but would like to hear how yours was fixed.

My dealer is giving me the "It's normal for these cars story" but that is just crap.

Tbh I have no clue. I told them where it was. I waited for their leak guy's day at the dealers, spoke to him over the phone. Problem solved when I picked it up.

Wish I had that kind of luck at the dealer.

May depend on how agressive you are with the hose.

It happens when it rains too.

Well, upon further review, it apears the water runs down the center window run channel and exits the bottom of the door where the guide is bolted in place. I will look into this as soon as possible with Ford.

Mine does the same, even in the rain. There is a LOT of water sometimes, several ounces anyway.

Sorry, mine are dry. When I wash, a few drops get inside the door, but not enough to worry about.
