Who wants to bet the doofus is thinking he's getting a steal on the car because he can't be bothered with the mundane task of actually reading about what he's actually bidding on.

Sigh....

I've got me a feeling that whoever wins isn't going to go thru with the auction...

Damian.

Are there really people that stupid as to actually PAY for that? Right.

This auction is for preorders at MSRP plus your bid amount. The 2005 Ford Mustang will be arriving very shortly and it is expected to be a huge success and dealers will be marking them up. This is your chance to lock in a Guaranteed price and order it your way!

I read this in the Comments box:

"This auction is for NEW 2005 Mustang coupes GT or Deluxe models.
The winning bid over MSRP gets to lock in that price and order it exactly how you want.
This will GUARANTEE you one of the first ones on the road!
Plus Tax & License fees. O.A.C"

So you are bidding to pay over MSRP for a mass produced vehicle?
Then you don't get the vehicle at the end of the auction, they just let you "order it exactly how you want" Wow! Thanks GUYS! No other Ford dealer in the country will let me order!

Oh and here's the kicker - even though you are ordering a car, you will still have one of the first on the road! Ford is gonna just not deliver those 4 thousand Mustangs sitting at the factory until the one you order is built and delivered!!!!!

Ha ha what an idiot. If I pay 35 grand for a mustang it had better be a cobra. And thats a 06/07 model cobra at that.

I sent the guy an email asking WHY they would do something like this,

This is his response:

Please be assured I will not be selling it for 9000 over MSRP either. The
ebay auction is to gather interested individuals who would be interested in
ordering a Mustang and I have no interest in gouging them. I apologize if it
appears that we would do so.

Sounds to me like he was called out and came up with the best response not to make himself look so bad. There was a guy at a dealership near me that when the 03 cobras came out he tried to put one on the internet and they flamed him. I think it was on corral.net
