I e-mailed the guy at Visus asking about when/if they will have rear and side louvers for the new Mustang. He said they started tooling August 4th, and should have rear and side louvers ready by October 15th, at the latest. And he sent me a pic, obviously computer done... but still gives us an idea of what they are going to come out with. Don't know where they got the pic of the Mustang with the ducktail spolier. I replied back asking about that, and I will let you know what he says.

That ducktail looks expensive. The side pieces are connected to that entire panel.

That ducktail is ill!!!! I guess if you could have a fiberglass one riveted to you brand new car then puddied and painted, YUK!! Maybe the next minor model change will allow integrated ductails.

having had a 70 mach1 fastback i speak from experience: you will NEED a rear window louver...the heat that will come through that window will be brutal!! you will not be able to keep the car cool in the summer without one. don't get the side louvers...they will cut down on the rearward visibility. jackg 90seville 95k

I disagree. The rear window is very, very close to the same angle as the SN95. Nowhere near the extreme angle of the 69-70 model rear glass.

i think the rear deck is chopped also. if you look in the rearview mirror you can see the quarter window without the vents so i think they just did a good chop on the wing also.

I thought that looked like a BM job from the past!

Below is BM's job. All they did was add a crease to the rear quarter panel!

I'm hoping that the crease they added to the ducktail means that it isn't welded onto the body (really smooth, but expensive)...rather more of a bolt on job (less expensive, but I'd like to see it in person before I fork over the cash)...

Huge fan of the ducktail and the side vents! The rear louver, I can take or leave, right now....

Damian.

No, they are correct. Designed to disappear when viewed from drivers seat, so they don't create more of a blind spot.

i like them both but i have to see them inperson to decide if i want them or not. i sold the louvers off my Mach 1 a few weeks ago so i think i might stay away from this idea but the sides, i will have to think about that.

I thought that chop looked familair with the ducktail. When I sent the guy at Visus an e-mail asking about the ducktail... he responded back saying please do not post (I had told him that I was going to post on the forum for those of you who were interested in louvers). Now it all adds up. He didn't want me to post because they stole burningman's chop. Interestng...

I can tell you speaking from experience with visus. They have good louvers, but they havent even come out with their side vents yet. They have been at it for over 2 years. I was researching them for Project Eleanor. I hope they are much faster in development now, than they were before.
