I called my dealer today for a update and he had the Vin # but I was driving when I called him so i couldn't write it down, but my question is since there's a Vin # does it mean my car is being built? What does having a vin mean? Thanks Kevin

 

Simply that Ford has picked up the order and serialized it. It does NOT mean your car is being built yet. I had a VIN for just over a month before my car actually started to get built.

 

He should of also given you a build week. When Ford pulls your order, they put it on their schedule to be built.

 

That's not true. They pull the order first, then it is pulled and waiting to be sequenced (schdeuled). Once it is sequenced the build date is given.

 

Oh okay, I have not heard of anyone not getting them at the same time, I got mine at the same time. Why would they pull it if it can't be scheduled? I would of thought if it were a material hold or whatever it wouldn't be pulled until sufficient quantities are on hand.

I got my VIN on 10/21 even though it wasn't sequenced until 11/16. I guess just to throw you a bone during the long period of waiting with nothing happening...
