My First Race Day
(heads up it is a 5 minute video)
Ok, I finally went to a race event, and raced. It was a 1/8th mile track at a local airport. No timers, just a "Flashlight" signal to start the race. They did have sensors at the end to say who won. I raced 6 times. I know I won 3 and lost two. There is one race where I am not sure who won. I think the other guy (67 camero) did and he thought I did. So take it as you will.
The first half of the video is about the JLT and the difference in sound. I did not hear much difference in neutral, but did hear a nice difference under load.
The second half of the video is about the races. The audience had to stand far away, so the pictures are not the greatest. But you can still see the race.
The first race clip is a great test. It was me against another 05 GT. The only difference is that I had a JLT intake with a tune, and the other guy was pure stock (except for flowmasters).
Enjoy.

Well nice video man. I like it. So what were those trucks running to beat you. Normally a turbo diesel 2 ton truck wont have a chance. Must have been something under those hoods man. Cause you wont normally find a dodge 2500 getting any where near 0-60 times the mustang has. Nice job on racing tho. Definitely noticed a difference in sound once intake was added. Try adding a bassani comp cats, xpipe, and axle back system and it will really scream.

The funny part is the black one hit fourth gear by the time I was getting to 2nd. I did not notice until I watch the video with sound. Sad part was you can hear the audience laughing.
I was looking at the bassani set up. In due time.

Cool video! Thanks for sharing that. I'd say they definitely have something extra under that hood.... I smoked my cousin in his stock Dodge 2500 (work truck) but his "chipped" and diesel turned up 2500 play toy, he smoked me... Both trucks are 2004s.

Yeah they are really far away but you can still see the beginning of the race pretty good.... enough to see the 2 trucks pull away from him pretty good and him pull away from the stock 05.

I don't get it. Those 2500's couldn't have been stock. They run somewhere between 7-10 seconds 0-60. Like every1 else said, they must be running some serious stuff under the hood.
But why would someone bother tunning a truck...i mean....it's a truck...not a sports car.

Awesome video! Thanks for posting that.
As far as getting smoked by the "rattle-rattle smoke-smoke" Dodge, yea, you gotta watch out for them diesels .....they have WAY more "Unlocked" potential than any stock gasser. Add 5" exhaust, unrestricted air intake and a chip and diesels create some serious HP/torque. (600 ft/lbs or more torque) He probably had gears too.
Don't forget that truck probably weighs twice what your car does. I know mine scales at 7300 lbs.

When I spent more time on a Ford powerstroke site, i was in the minority not having exhaust mods and a serious chip....for power. Many posts on 1/4 times.
All in all, it isn't any different, just enthusiasts for different vehicles. In fact, many on that board had Mustangs as well.

C'mon, it was the angle of the camera! I only lost by about a car and half, go easy on me! Never the less, a loss is a loss. Good run Chris, I'll be looking for my revenge on June 18th.
Here's a pic I snapped with my phone while waiting in line.
