'Vert Owners come in here.

I have an '06 GT 'Vert with 26K miles on her. Only problem is the top rattles when going over bumps while up. Sounds like it's coming from the two corners of the windshield where the top meets the header. Is there any TSB on this problem? Thanks.

I'm not sure about a TSB but, mine does it on occasion too. You might see if you can tighten up the latch where it mounts to the windshield header. My guess is, there is a little flex designed into the latch.

Mine does the same, but it only seems to come from the driver's side.

Noticed my drivers side doing this over harsh bumps on Saturday...both side probably do it I just don't sit over there. I was thinking there should be some adjustment to the latch but haven't investigated it yet. 10K on mine as of today.

Mine does the same off the passenger side. Course my car is lowered and riding on 20"s. Win some lose some I guess... I'll try and fiddle with it later.

I was warned that this would happen, but no noise after 8500 miles!

I hate to put this so bluntly, but it's a convertible, it's going to rattle.

Hey, we gotta take the good with the bad when it comes to verts (good = top down enjoyment, bad = less handling, cowl shake, more rattles)

On mine I also thoght it was a rattle but I finally got my top rattle / cracking sound fixed !

I was able to reproduce what I thought was the rattle by pushing upward on the top material at the top of the window.

It was related to the tensioner cable that passes all the way from from to back on each side of the car, that cable is made cover by a plastic coating and becaused it's passed through the vinyl top it was sticking and creating the cracking sound.

They completely remove the cable, put grease on it and fished it back into place and now the rattle / cracking sound is gone.

just make sure it's not the sunvisor. put them down and see if it still happens. the hard plastic door on the vanity mirror sometimes bangs against the stops on top and it sounds like it's coming from the top.

Imagine how good she looks in color.

Actually I used this photo to do the raster art that was in the "Let's See Your Garage" thread. I have a mural made of 30 letter size sheets (6 columns by 5 rows) on my basement wall. It came out awsome.

The rattles have been driving me nuts...the rattle from in between where the windshield and the top meet was fixed by the dealership putting on felt tape where it meets. The rattling that has been driving me nuts for the longest time is in between the second and third crossbars and is most noticible in any wind or on the interstate. The newest annoying rattle is the worst...it is coming from the rubber/plastic seal that is part of the rear passenger side quarter window. The dealership has to order whole window....still waiting for the part, and then they also better re-tint my window! The dealership says that all the other rattles come with having a vert.

I love my vert. Have had mine since last summer, no rattles.....

Have passenger side floor leak issues and A LOT OF NOISE from the back seats.... the latter is easily explained !

Are you *sure* it's coming from the top? I had a rattle on the right side of the car that ended up being the small plastic plate behind the passenger door release handle. It was hard to pin point while driving and I ended up checking and testing lots of spots on the passenger side until I eventually found it. Other than that and a suspension squeek that went away on it's on, no other rattles.

Upper left corner around where the top connects to the roof on the driver's side on mine as well.

Almost 27,000 miles...been happening for the last 4-5k or so.
