Valet key
Many cars come with a valet key which only has the ability to open the driver side door and start the ignition. It won't open the trunk or passenger door(s). Some of the newer valet keys coming with newer cars even limit the max speed of the car to like 20-30mph so that the person using it can't take your car on a joyride. I didn't have one for my 2000 Mustang either and I was pretty sure the 2005 Mustang didn't have one, but just wanted to make sure before calling my dealer or going up there.
Valet key. LMAO
This is a Ford not a Mercedes.... It would be nice though.
I never could understand the reasoning of a valet key though. If I have the key to the drivers door I can then open the trunk, passengers door from the inside and even steele the car.

Locks on luggage are to help the local economy you are traveling to. When you get to your room and realize your bags are locked and you cant get your clothes out you curse yourself for forgetting the key and run out and buy all new clothes
Valet keys are dumb. My mom's Toyota Corolla has a valet key and it works for everything except opening the trunk, BUT there is a trunk release next to the drivers seat. I know the Mustang doesn't have a trunk release button except on the remote, but you can just put the rear seats down from inside and get into the trunk... Pointless...

Yeah, since airports won't let you lock them. I guess to keep housekeeping out of your luggage in hotels..

Does the 2005 Mustang have a valet key? My dealer didn't get one and I want to know if that's because there isn't one or if they just forgot. Thanks

If you need additional keys and clickers I found them on e-bay
$16.00 per key $9.95 per clicker
both are easy to program.
As others have said, no, there is no valet key with the Mustang.
My Altima came with one - it would open the driver's door and start the car, but that's it. It wouldn't open the glove box, trunk, or unlock the fold-down rear seats.
It didn't have the speed limiter though - now that would be a great feature.
I don't see myself ever valeting the Mustang though - it's amazing how many people can get jobs parking cars, without knowing how to drive a manual!

Well if it only opens the door and will not start it as no coded chip in it then lets say you give the key to someone to go get something and maybe they want to go for a spin ? or you lock your self out then get in and turn off that lound beeping alarm ? there is two reasons for a valet key alone.

I'll park it myself before I let some punk in a red jacket burn my clutch up. :stubborn:

Yep, two switchblade keys and a regular valet one. It's a nice thing to have since the VW keys are almost $300 each to replace. I use the valet key when I take the car in for service, since all they need to do is start it. It's a good idea to have IMHO.
VW keys for $300., I can remember when VW's were $300.00! Talk about having a nitch and then leaving it, competeing in the high end and failing misserably, why? Because VW is know for economical transportation. Brand ID. They shouldn't be embarassed about that. After all the bug went from 1949 until 2002!
