V6's can do the job just as good as any V8. And with the money he saves getting the v6 over the GT maybe you can get some mods off him? Haha

Anyways being 16 v6 is a safe place to start and you can always add forced induction to get some serious power. Keep us posted!

First off. Speak positive no one wants to die specially at 16, lol. Im a strong advocate of speaking positive... Hah anyways

I'd check the V6 Boards as far as dual exhaust set up goes. See whats popular and listen to some sound clips. Far as getting it all from one place. I'd check Brenspeed.com or Ninosports.com. I've delt with both and am extremely sarisfied with the service recieved.

I have a v6 Mustang and I'm running Magnaflow duals (part #16605) exhaust. It comes with a y-pipe setup (which is kinda lame) and flows out to 2.5" - 3" tips. It's a little buzzy when you crank of from a cold start but quiet downs pretty quick. It rumbles pretty good when you hit the gas and gets pretty throaty (not like a v8 however) when you hit WOT. It's improved my MPG considerably over the stock exhaust set up (I hit 36 mph highway once with the new exhaust set up...I never got over 27 with the factory set up). I'd definetly go with an exhaust set up that either true duals or has an H or X setup. Matter of fact I will be taking my car back to the exhaust shop where they installed my Magnaflows and have them fab a custom H or X pipe to replace the Y pipe set up that came with my Magnaflows. As far as intakes, can't give you an opinion on that yet because I haven't got one but from the word of mouth on a few Mustang forums I frequent I'll probably go with a C&L Intake and a tune from Bamachips.

Hope this helps.

I bought my conversion kit through www.V6Mustangstuff.com
They sent me Pypes Performance mid pipe, x-pipe, clamps and hangers. I bought two GT-takeoff mufflers from a guy on the Mustang Forums. I bet if you look here in the classifieds, you can find a good deal on take-off mufflers.
Price for all.....$395.
Be aware that when going duals you will either have to cut your left bumper (that's what I'm doing) or purchase a GT Bumper.

I'm getting duals installed tomorrow.

Word of advice...

Unless you are going to install a supercharger on your V6 putting on a CAI is a waste of money on the V6. The stock air box provides more than enough cold air for the V6 engine. Save the money from a CAI for better exhaust mods.

NO, have one muffler with a cutout and one sitting under the bumper?!

EDIT: Also, duals have shown very little to no performance gain on the S197 V6. You would be better off getting a nice single exhaust setup unless you are doing major work to the car.

I'm not arguing that it will sound and look better, but performance-wise, duals wouldn't be the way to go. By the way, I like the way my single-exit sounds! It certainly doesn't sound like a V8 muscle car, but it does have a subtle rumble at idle and really opens up when you get on it. I say it has a European flavor, but still sounds good. You can listen to clips on Magnaflow's website...

Lol I hear ya. Do what I did to get my GT. Say your not so much interested in all 300 horses but your really into the sound of a perfectly tuned V8 muscle car.

Not true, there have been many who have showed gain on a dyno, heck K&N sells a kit with out a tune. VMP got 4 &7 HP on Rebacca's car with only a CAI. Beside most cost around $100 are a lot less restrictive that the cotton stock filter.
