I was wondering if you or have you used mothers powerball or miniball for polishing some bright work on your car? I saw that someone had used polish on the rear diff cover. I figured that the mini ball would do it easier and then I thought about the valve covers or other bright work under the hood.

what do you think?

I use the Powerballs to clean and polish my wheels. But, I 'm sure they are tough enough to take a none polished item all the way to polished. It is only a tight cell foam formed into a ball. The Flitz Ball is good to and a bit tougher.

I have the small one and it works great!! I've used is on my rims and my exhaust tips. The small one gets in between the rotors really good on my rims. It comes with a nice extender piece for hard to reach areas. I also love the Mothers Chrome polish and the mag & aluminum polish. Good Stuff!!

The MOTHERS POWER BALL is made of a VERY soft foam,
while it is good enough to keep a polished item bright and shiny
it is NOT tough enough for hard poilshing.
I have a FLITZ power ball
http://www.flitz.com/
They have a deal for TWO power ***** and some polish.
And they have 2 sizes.
The Flitz is a pretty good product in its self...
My 2 cents

I am sure the powerball will fall apart if you are trying to polish dull metals or small pieces. I have the 6" powerball and it has started to fall apart and that is just from using it on my rims. The powerball-mini is made of the same material so I am sure the same problem would occur. I'd just get a polishing pad used for drills/grinders or use a dremel depending on what needed to be poished.
