Buy mine. only 1 kagillion dollars! --- Dr. Evil.

Serioulsy what do you really want? The 2005 or a 1999-2004? I don't think you should settle if you have your hopes set on the new car. Just save your money and buy it in the future. If you just can't decide between which you like better then take my advice and go with the new car. It's better in just about every way that we have seen so far.

The gauges are nice on the car, I'll give you that. It's just that so many of them that I see, including my own :bang: , have the dreaded gaps/crappy build quality in the speaker and center console area. Thats my only pet peeve about it. To be honest hard plastics don't bother me much in the Mustang.

Well I may have made the stupidest thing ever history Y'all.....

Today I got approved on the orange 04, and set to go on a black 05 v6. I go build and buy Friday.

Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't say...........

The comp. Orange isn't a given, and the fat lady hasn't sang. This one is the hubbys but we have not signed off on the deal yet. all told, I got it for just under 20.

His and Hers Mustangs- I got the man hooked on pony power.

they dont bother me either. the only gripe i have is that the tweeter speakers of my mach 460 extend into the window area. but the interior is actually what drew me to the mustang over an accord or other car with better fit and finish.
maybe its just me, i tend not to hold gripes against anything, i fall more and more in love with my 2002 interior everytime i sit in it. even the seats are just so simple and with leather, i think theyre some of the most comfortable seats i've ever sat in.

since no one seems to be noticing in the v6 fourm, and this thread is indirectly related to the current model, can anyone tell me what they think would be causing this problem?

Probably, I had the same problem with my 1990 Dodge Shadow. (Insert jokes here.) It leaked freon all over the floor.

BTW, EM congrats on the two car purchases if they go as you want!

As for the 94+ interior; I read a review out a few years back, that I believe came from Motortrend, that said this about the Mustang interior.

"If you think the Mustang interior is cheaply made and overly simple, try driving around in a fully loaded BMW 7 series for a few days. You'll learn to love the Mustang's simplicity over BMW's hundred various controls"

I had one too... Hated it, traded it for a sunbird. I gotta stop renting cars and falling in love.

But I would put money on the heater core being whacky.

Ya, I like my 02 still. Its front end has a nice musucler snarl to it. The rear of the 05 does not look any better, but the roof line on the 05 is great.

Don't worry, lots of people will be going for the new 05 and trading in their "earlier" Stangs. I'm sure you'll find a good one in your price range. Maybe you should post how much you're willing to pay and someone from the forums can sell it to you direct.

The problem is not your heater core, but likely your evaporator canister. If it was dripping anti-freeze, then it would be your heater core.

Basically you have stinky job ahead of you...tearing the dash off, laying upside down underneath it pulling out the plastic, possibly pulling the heater core (I'm not familiar with whether or not the heater core is in the way of the evap.), pulling the lines off, pulling the faulty component, then putting it all back together and getting your system recharged. Sorry.
