Pretty good article that brought up most of the points that would interest me, and in ways that I agreed with.

SAAAWWWEEETTT!!! Mark up another good one...

Cool quotes...

"Everywhere the striking new Mustang went, it seemed, people had the same reaction. They wanted to see the car. Touch it. Look inside. Grin. Talk about it."

"The whole setup, Ford says, is meant to "reward the expert driver, flatter the novice."

...seems to be a love-hate relationship with the interior based on other reviews...this one is a positive...

"Inside, crude enough in previous Mustangs that you didn't always want to be there, is a delight in the '05. The dashboard is sculpted in the manner of the '60s models. The gauges are, too. Key controls are classy-feeling mechanisms that are a welcome change from the rude devices used previously."

"Who'll (want to) buy? Everybody who used to have one, and everybody who didn't"

from the article:

"It's not often a car company gets one so very, very right, so much like the car it intended to make, as Ford has done with the '05 Mustang."

I like this guy's point of view and honesty (as I had just re-read his BULLITT review from 2001, before reading this one coincidently), though I believe he is, like all of us, a Mustang fan.

The solid rear axle forces both rear wheels to jump when only one goes over a bump. In theory, that should cause a rougher ride and flighty steering. Nope. Lots of reengineering of spring and shock absorber location and clever design, sizing and placement of suspension components seem to have all but eliminated the ills associated with a solid rear axle, at least during vigorous driving on public roads.
That's good enough for me!

The embargo is OVER!!! "Let loose the dogs of war!!!" (Or in the this case the media hacks!!)

Bring on the info I'm ready to soak it all up and making visits to Barnes and Noble every other day for the next couple of weeks to pick up all the mags.

Good comments on the V6 too. You could tell he was expecting a letdown when he went from the GT to the Coupe and the 210HP engine in the 6 didn't let him down.

See? Now THAT'S a fair article that compliments and criticizes the Mustang for the market it was INTENDED for. If only AutoWeek with get off the "import comparison horse" and review it with an unbiased opinion, maybe I would care what they say.

MOORPARK, Calif. — Flashing lights of a police cruiser threatened to ruin everything. But after a teasing, "Driver's license, please," the cop grinned and said never mind: "I just wanted to see the car."

Yes, it was a good article. It intrigues me that afovorable review elicits coments like this when an article that points out any shortcomings in a Mustang is labeled bashing. I think import comparisons are valuable since they have forced Ford to improve their overall quality.

You have a very valid point when you mention the market the Mustang was intended for. Sure, there's a lot of import competition in its performance and price range, but there is only one pony car still running loose on the range, and that's the Mustang.

well he was looking for a tuning ****, which has not graced automobile dashboards for 15 years. The stereo is a piece of cake actually to use without looking after the learning curve in all of 22 seconds.
