update on my Shaker 500 problem
called my old dealer to see if they could replace the radio...since WOODHOUSE (who i thought was cool...but they were giving me the runaround) was being difficult
ALL I FREAKIN WANT IS NOT TO HAVE TO DRIVE 100 MILES TO GET IT *LOOKED AT*
the owner of my old dealer said that i could call up there and they would get me one ordered
i call up there and talk to service, tell him the problem and mention the TSBs
the service manager said
"You know that if you play burnt CDs in your shaker...it will void your warranty"
that is a dead quote from him
i said no...it was skipping on regular cds
"Oh ok, because if we send it back and there is a burnt cd stuck in there, ford will void your warranty and charge us $600 for the radio....which we will charge you"
i reassured him that there was no cds stuck in there
so where are we supposed to buy our MP3 discs from?

Tell him straight, that he is WRONG. The shaker was made to play CD's burnt with MP3's or regular Wav files. If something is wrong with the burn the HU will eject it or just wont play it. You cant just go to a store and buy a artist album that has mp3's. That would lessen the quality of the recording. And make the cds easier to copy, which we all know the recording industry doesnt want us doing unless we pay.
I can see them saying "If we find a broken burnt cd inside we wont be able to honor the waranty as we wont know whether the HU or the CD caused the problem. " But even that is a stretch! If he gives you more crap tell him you are calling ford customer care! Everyone knows those shakers are P.O.S. That was the first mod I did to my car got rid of it.
It really infuriates me to hear of all this crap the dealer gives alot of us new car owners especially over petty small things like the **** radio. I say go the route of some of the other members which is to contact the BBB in your area contact, Ford themselves, and email the customer service rep for the dealer. I say if people dont give you the right answer then go over them. If you want ill sell you my shaker cheap, it was only in my car a week.

and when i call him back if he is still giving me crap i will give him a piece of my mind
heck...my grandpa and the owner's dad (who used to own this dealer) used to be best friends
if he gives me one more problem i will talk to the owner...the owner was the one who told me to call up there and that i would get taken care of...no problems

Just had shaker #3 installed.
He said- I checked it out- it is broke(duh).
I got a 2006 model shaker this time. Word on the street- pink Floyd still has gaps.

Mine has been pesky.......I am now on #3.
Shaker #2 had a nasty habit of Static, Rewinding to the beginning and spitting out every disc I put in as bad.
Shaker 3 is so far so good, but I can't find the RDS activate on it.

UPDATE!
went in on monday
my shaker had a date of 6/5/05
the *replacement* had a date of 3/x/05
it was a refurb'd...prolly one of April's
it wouldnt even TAKE the cds
waiting for another replacement...i requested a *NEW* one

This one works perfect! Problem is I can't figure out how to enable the RDS on it.
You probably got my Shaker #1- the Original A Series.
