Here's a pic of my 07 hoodliner. The arrows indicate where the GT500 STB contacts the liner.

The part costs about $85 form the ford parts counter at your local dealer.

I recently purchased an '08 liner for my '06. Not only is there an indentation for the strut tower brace, the area above the air box is slightly modified as well. I don't have the ford racing intake or a strut tower brace, but I like it because the liner is made of stiffer material that does not sag in the middle, so I no longer have to keep a rag on my plenum cover to keep it from rubbing.

TIP: If you go to pick it up, bring a truck or remove the old one first and bring your push pins for a parking lot install. I brought my Stang and had to go back inside to buy a couple of push pins so I could get it home!

Thanks for the information!

Would you, by chance, have the appropriate part number? I like to make the counter guys life easier (as well as guarantee that i get the right part).

Thanks!

I believe that may be the correct part number, some internet searching has shown that to be the one!

Thanks! I just sent it over to my dealership and I look forward to seeing what they say.

Again, thanks.

Yup, and I think the 7R3Z*16738*G is the 05-07 version that sags.

Is that the correct cover for a hood with the factory scoop?

I did a search and 7R3Z*16738*F referred to the 2007 GT500 insulator.

I just spoke with the parts man at the dealership and he said that 7R3Z*16738*H is the liner for the 08 GT and the Bullitt. Mine is ordered and should be here in 3 days.

No, but if you remove your existing ones with a proper tool such as a panel popper they are fine to re-use. I removed/reinstalled mine several times and have no broken tabs.

That's great, I am sure others will find this useful.

To summarize:

7R3Z*16738*F - 2007 GT500 insulator
7R3Z*16738*G - 2005-2007 GT insulator
7R3Z*16738*H - 2008 GT and the Bullitt insulator

When I ordered mine I did not specify year, so I basically lucked out getting the 08 version. I'll have to add it to my list of "mods".

Tim

Your local auto parts store will carry them.
