A sleeper is used as an illusion. It's so when posers see you they want to race kinda raises there confedince. Little do they know there's that beast of a five ohh under the hood. It's a way for you not to show off and keep others in the dark about what your stang can really do.

Thats not a sleeper, this is a sleeper! Its fox based so nearly every part from a 79-04 Mustang will bolt up.

Factory authentic or not, the badging and emblems are just advertising for the company once you break it all down.

We are doing exactly what all those car companies want. Can you hear the cash register?

Easy cowboy, its a discussion, not the end of the world!!! No need to get an uproar about it. I agree with you with one thing, its their cars and have a right to do as they please, but doesnt mean i agree with it

Wow, butthurt much? You can do what you want but when your putting Cobra badges on your V6 or GT than ya just look stupid and desperate. It's like you want a Cobra but are just too cheap to buy one. That makes those who actually bought one laugh at you and than when you get your *** handed to you by a POS that makes them think that their car is better than real Cobra's

Go try and buy a shelby gt500kr hood! You wont get it! Try and order a set of kr floor mats. Its not gonna happen if you dont have a kr that is registered thru shelby registery!! Shelby does this to protect the consumers who purchased a true kr and not for the posers out there

If you wanna put fauxbra badges on it's your decision. It's a free country. For now at least. But don't tell people they can't laugh at your folly.

I worked in advertising for 10 years, I have never understood the fascination with brand names. I used to get teased in grade school because I wore Rustlers and not Levi's. My dad was a motorcycle driving mechanic that did the best he could. Now that I'm a teacher, I see kids get teased everyday because the purses aren't "coach" brand.

I say "badge till it kills" you but be aware that you may receive questions and off color comments from scrutinizing or immature people. Be ready for that.

On the other hand, I recall when I bought my authentic S281 in 00. I got all kind of comments like "faleen" fake saleen, "clone", and the best was this fat guy that asked me if "I got the kit?" at a muffler shop. I've had people crawl underneath that car just to see if it had the race craft suspension or ask me to see the engine bay plaque so they can verify it in the saleen book/registry!

You can't win either way!

Years later, I realize that I could have built that POS better myself. Lol At the time, the brand was foolishly more important to me. Sad.

In contradiction to "badge till it kills you," My V6 proudly has 3.7 stamped on the fenders. It's just much easier to deal with all the A-holes on the road.

Instead of worrying about badging cars, we should put badges on all the a-holes. Even though they are usually easy to spot, there might be one sleeper a- hole out there.

You know who you are!!

Every single part of life is about judgement.. Thats why women wear nice dresses and put paint all over.. Guys were power ties and dockers.. grow up.. this everyone wins stuff is what losers say because they lack game or ability. You do not hear pretty girls crying about how super models are to skinny. If your main mod on a car is a badge then you simply have failed.

Thats because you cant define "pretty."

You can't apply judgement to a persons physical attributes because they are subjective. There is no standard for what is considered attractive, only what the media has programmed you to find attractive.

"Pretty" IMO is a badass car that doesn't have to try to be badass. When you mis-badge your car your trying to impress someone, even if you don't want to admit it

You just reminded me of when I was in college. I used to always try to drive around with "pretty" girls. At least they were in the daylight. Lol

Haha...hard part was getting them into that car.

This is a tough thread. I've driven a POS Carrolla before. I can only imagine the comments if I hopped that thing up.

I think more people get offended if the badge does not represent the true power of the vehicle because its somewhat ghetto and non representational of fact...and not so much the looks?

I've seen d@mn good Saleen conversions. If its a GT or Cobra and the badges are switched to saleen brand.. What then?

Yes , I've seen Cobras converted with Saleen kits and the snakes removed. That was always a tough one for me.
