It says that the car was not modified in any way...so why would a fuel line just come loose like that going down the road????? Is this a issue we as 06 owners should look into.......it is kinda scary.......

Very True!! Being a Paramedic and working Nascar races for over 15 years there would have been crews there very quickly!!! The fire was so intense though and were they wearing any kind of protection? could, Maybe, have made the difference

Anyway a very sad day in our community

The car was Modded, Look at the engine bay in post 12 looks modded to me?

Very heavily modded from the looks of it. S/C, non-stock fuel rails, stainless sleeved hoses, some type of fuel system component on the firewall (pressure regulator? Aux pump?)

As horrific and tragic as this is, I don't think regular GT owners need to be worried that it's an inherent defect in the car as it comes from Ford.
