Tweaking Dougs tunes
Has anyone tweak any of the tunes thye have go tfrom doug. ie. shift firmness, timing or whatever. Also does doug automatically remove the governor or do I need to do that myself?

Load tune
Select which ever tune you want
Then the screen will give you the option to "set optional parameters"
Select yes
Then use the arrow keys to go through the different options
When you get to an option you want to change press select
Then use the arrow keys to scroll through
Push select once you get to the setting you want
Once your done adjusting everything just exit out and it will ask you if you want to save the changes.
Select yes.
Then your tune will load.
FYI-Any changes you made will not be save to the orginal tune file.
So if you want to go back to Dougs settings just reload the tune.

When the tuner programs the XCal II, he has the option to allow the end user to modify some of the settings (Program with Options). Whether you can or cannot make modifications depends on how the tuner was feeling the day he created the tune file. If he selects Program with Options, the attached pic is the splash screen that appears. From here the tuner can select what he wishes you to have some control over.

adj, parameters
The X CAL II is fully adjustable for fuel mixture, timing, shift pressure, idle rpms in park or drive, high rpms limitier, speed limitier and what color panty hose your passenger is wearing
Your usually not going to want to make any timing or fuel mixture adjstments with out having some diagnostic equipment hooked up while on a dyno for what is safe or not, leave that to the loaded tune and the octane it wants.

adjustable parameters
Check your X Cal for what he has done about the govenor. My car came factory without a speed limitier setting and my X Cal had it set at 120 mph on all three tunes but in adjustable parameters I can still delete his setting to leave it open. I have hit 125 mph easily with nothing but the 87 tune, guess I should try it on the 92 but my speedometer quits at 125 or 200 klmph.
You should be safe with 2 degrees advance through all rpm ranges with such a minimal increase in octane.

1. Plug in your tuner to your OBDII port
2. Go to program vehicle
3. Go to custom tune
4. Go to whichever tune you want, 93 race I guess
5. It will ask you for optional parameters, select yes
6. Go to spark 0-2000, advance 2 degrees
7. Go to spark 2000-4000, advance 2 degrees
8. Go to spark 4000-6000, advance 2 degrees
9. Back out of everything and it will ask you to save changes, select yes
