While doing some research on the whole Tungsten/Titanium, production car/show car issue, I came across this page, the 2006 Crown Vic options info.
If you look at the color options on that page, you'll see two interesting entries:
Medium Titanium Clearcoat Metallic . . . . . . . . . . YG
Tungsten Clearcoat Metallic . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . T8
Now, there's the T8 code we know is Tungsten, but there's definitely a different code for Titanium. This is consistent with what DuPont lists as the codes for Titanium and Tungsten.
Is there any solid statement by Ford that Tungsten is the same color as the Titanium show car?

Medium Titanium may not be exactly the Titanium colour, as the paint code is different.
It seems that T8 is 3 different paint names.... Titanium, Tungsten Silver, Tungsten Gray

Tungsten on the GT supercar doesn't look similar to the Tungsten were all seeing today. I could be wrong.

Unfortunately I cannot search the forums on T8 as it doesn't allow for less than three letter searches.

So who's going to get a sample of Tungsten and a sample of Titanium so we can compare them under the same conditions?

Also, this excerpt is from Ford's Media site:
"Tungsten Grey was developed for the 2004 North American International Auto Show Ford “Performance Trilogy†show cars – the Ford GT, the Shelby Cobra roadster concept and the new 2005 Mustang GT. Customer demand was so overwhelming that the color was added to the production palette."

Must be the show lights. I just checked the 2006 Ford GT order guide. The new color for 2006 is called Tungsten Silver and the paint code is T8, exactly the same as the 2006 Mustang's Tungsten Grey.

That way maybe Ford will pull the color from 07 and we can be like the MG guys and have a mustang in a color that only ran for one year.
That would be fine by me...
TG... good for you... TG... good for me. Hhhmmm good...
