Unhappy

i had placed an order for a screaming yellow 06' GT earlier last month, and was told it'd arrive in Dubai along with the next shipment from Flatrock around mid November...
i've always had a screaming yellow with 10" stripes and tinted glass in mind, till today when the dealer called and said there's been a mix up in the order, and my manual Yellow GT was mistakingly ordered as an Auto..

now i have three options..
either i go with an Automatic Screaming Yellow GT that'd be here in November
or i'll have to wait for the next shipment around February or March 2006 to get a manual tranny

on the other hand, the dealer has a tungsten grey on order, due to arrive in November, with all the options i've ordered.. IUP, 18" Fanblades, Shaker 1000 ( with the exception of the interior being red )

i actually like the Tungsten Grey, and would need the extra push to settle on it and avoid the extra 4 months wait..

i spent all of today searching for a Tungsten Grey GT with stripes.. still can't figure out which color goes on better.. though i think Satin silver stripes might do it justice..

what do you guys think?
sorry about the lengthy post.. just felt like pouring my heart out

Tell the dealer you'll take the Tungsten as soon as he changes the color to screaming yellow. If it's not due til November, there should be plenty of time to make the color change. After he does this for you and tell him to try not to screw up your order again.

I agree. If the car isn't built yet, tell him to change the order for you to Screaming Yellow.

If I am reading correctly, the car has already been built, so there is no changing it. Also, Dubai is overseas, so that is where the time factor comes in on shipping. That's a tough choice.

Tungsten. Looks awesome with the fanblades and if its due in November you should still have time to change the order (should still be C/U) if you want black leather. Still though, ICAP on TG looks killer. I would take that color, its what I picked.

oil-marketing companies approached the government, demanding 100 per cent increase in the oil prices in one shot, though the government approved only a 50 per cent rise in two phases.
Last week, a 31.5% hike was announced. The remaining increase would be made in the second phase, beginning early next year.

well... i still can't make my mind up

it's too late to change colors of the November shipment, the cars are already serialized and are being built as we speak, or so my dealer says.

i think i would be quite happy with Tungsten Grey with IUP/ICAP provided i get stripes that really give it that pop..
i don't think White stripes would cut it.. probably Satin Silver or so..

i got the diecast model off TMS Store which sports Tungsten Grey and Silver stripes and i'm in love with it.. though it's no indication of what the full sized model would look like in real life.

i should probably sleep on this a couple more days :\

so i go to the dealership today to make my mind up, and close the case, as they said there's a good chance they might be able to swap the colors if it's not too late, but today Ford was off so they couldn't get this finalized.

i park and go down... as i was walking to the front door, an '05 yellow with black stripes pulls over and parks
and it just hit me.. once i've seen the screaming yellow in person, the color isn't quite what i expected!!

i know i haven't seen the Tungsten Grey in person either, but i guess i'd be taking an equal chance with that..

if the TG looks anything close to the pictures with white/silver stripes, similar to the detroit 04 showpiece, i'd be happy
be it darker, lighter, or even purplish

long story short following is my order now

2006 Mustang GT Coupe (T28 / 140A / 99H)
Tungsten Grey Clearcoat Metallic (T8)
Dark Charcoal w/Red interiod color accent (KR)

TR3650 5-Speed Manual Transmission (44K)
18" Polished Aluminum Wheels (64E)
Antilock Brakes w/Traction Control ( 552)
Front Seat Side mounted Airbags (43A)
Shaker 500 (912)
6-Way power Adjustable sports buckets (21K)
Interior Upgrade Package (18G)
Interior Color Accent Package (68R)
Smokers Package (63B)

the build week is sometime mid September, will be confirmed in the coming week

i'm finally happy! and again.. can't wait!
