Well like we all know it's hard to buy a car with just pictures. As they say seeing is believing. I went to a dealer because I saw they had stock on the computer. Looking around the lot I spotted a rear quarter window of a stang. As i was weaving in and out of all these new cars on this lot I thought I'd never get there to see my new color TG on an 06. So I find it. My first impression of the back in direct sunlight was "Not bad, alot of metallic". Then I just studied the car for 20 min at every angle and my conclusion was I really don't like this color. I'm the kind of guy that needs to fall in love with my cars. And if I got this car and didn't like the color I would sell it. This color was absolutely Gray. I thought it would be more silvery. In my opinion there was no depth to it, no pop just plain old Gray. I mean I'm just like everyone else, we all fell in love with the car show car. It's just to neutral for me. Now I'm even hoping that the Vista looks good ON THE CAR. So I changed my order and am hoping to see one before it gets pulled. I'm not trying to discourage the guys who have TG on order because I was one who said the color does have depth before I saw the actual car, i'm just saying if your a nut like me who needs to have depth with color and be a little flashy then you need to see the car first. This is just my opinion...

This totally solves the issue for me.On one hand you have NYYANKee say its just gray and on the other hand you have people saying its lavender, pink, not sure, whatever.I think everyone perceives this color differently and thats what I like.I bet a lot of people don't like champagne metallic either.I love that color(very rich looking IMO).so bring on the tungsten and let the mods begin!!
P.s. NYYANKEE, I'm glad you are going with a color you like.have you seen vista in person? anyway I think It's gonna be a lot harder to keep it clean.I think it looks awesome in pics though.

Hey NYYankee,
I think you made the right decision. I'm with you. A lot of of us based our Tungsten opinion off the FORD GT supercar or the Titanium show car (which we were told by many paint experts on this site that it's the same color) Blah blah blah blah. I don't buy it. When the very first true tungsten car surface the beginning of July, I knew I needed to change away from Tungsten. A lot of people will like this color I'm sure. It's just not for me. There was no popping in it for me like we were promised. As I stated before, how many people have said this color looks awesome, in the right lighting. How often is your car, in the right lighting? My only complaint to FORD is to show us what they are going to sell. If they are taking orders for 06's back in May, then allow us to see the color selection. I many times went to different Ford dealerships wanting to see color samples. Same answer everytime, Ford hasn't sent us anything. So to all the folks that say I should have checked before plunking down $30,000 for a car (by the way, my GT was only $25,000 - xplan), I tried.

And thats what I liked about it was people talking about this color and everyone percieving it differently. I thought it would be unique. Now I'm not saying it will not but I had shade and direct sunlight but it just did not make me say WOW. I think this car looks good in pink but I need fireworks. I even checked the window sticker 3 times to make sure it was TG!

Hey Scott, you won't be sorry with your new color choice .I too ordered Vista Blue, and I can't wait for a dealer in my area to get one in, so I can go and check it out. I LOVE THIS COLOR . I'm like you where the color has to "hit me", and this is what VB has done. When I saw saskwatch car on here, I was in heaven. It's Guardsman Blue, but updated with metallic. Can't wait to see one. Congratson your order.

I think the Vista Blue looks great also. Wish they would have offered a similar dark green.

Edit: Well, I'm in the same camp. Cancelled my Tungsten, switched to Vista. Was going to go Legend Lime but it just doesn't jump out at you. When they release the Shelby convertible in dark green in a few years, I'll probably switch to that.
