Tunes 92 Octane

Ok, hopefully this is my last question before I buy the tuner/tunes. I know Doug has the octanes listed as 87,89, 91 and 93. Almost all of our pumps go from 87 to 89 to 92. Sooo my question is this...what the he[[ do I do?

If I say 92, does he change it to work for 92 or am I able to run 93 race, fill up with 92 and make some sort of adjustments with the tuner??

Forgive my questions, but im in the learning process with all this.

where i live it is 87 89 and 91; except that BP has 92 - so i had mine tuned to 91 and if 92 is available i put it in but since there is no guarantee i will be near a BP and dont worry about putting in 91; if this is the same as your case then i recommend you get the 91 but if everyone has 92 then he should be able to accommodate it or otherwise just use the 91 tune.

Just have him tune for 91 octane. The 92 will work just fine with a 91 octane tune. Whatever you do, don't use a 93 octane tune with 92 octane gas.

i have a 93 race tune and always put in 94 octane that is what we have here. I recently was down in the sates and had to put in 92 octane. I just pulled the timing back 1 degree. would that be ok, or could that also cause problems. If I just dumped in some more 94 octane on top would that make it better

Backing the timing down 1 degree for 92 would be fine. If you get any pinging, back it down another degree. A little bit of pinging won't hurt your engine, as long as it is only occasionally, and is not severe.

I would find a tuner that can give you a tune for the octane thats available to you. Emailing them and asking if they can send you a canned tune for 92 octane, I cant see why it would be an issue.

pulling global timing back a degre for going from 93(well at least what our tuned for) to 92 should be ok for a temp fix.
