I am trying to wait it out until the '07 Cobra hits the street. But should I just give up the wait and opt for an '05 GT? OR should I buy a $26,000 '03 Cobra with 5k-15k miles?

What do you all think? I could get the 2005 GT and look pretty cool driving it. OR I could get the 03 Cobra and savor the power. OR I could wait and look cool and have the power of a 2007 Cobra.

The 05 GT and 03 Cobra are in the same price range. The 07 Cobra will probably be in the $47k price range.

(sigh)

I hear what your saying, I was contemplating the same choices! I ordered my 05 GT yesterday and may consider trading up when the Cobra finally shows up! This is what I would do if I were you! B)

P.S. I would be very surprised if they price the Cobra over $40,000.

I'm was thinking the same thing, also. I was 'influenced' to wait until the Cobra. Waiting 2 years gives me enough time for a larger down payment plus by that time my Explorer will be paid off. But, ultimately I think I would have regreted not getting the car I really wanted.

If the new Cobra is over $40K(which I doubt also) and you can't afford it there will be SE's coming out also.

I also decided to get the '05 GT and trade up to the Cobra in '07. There is no way I could have made it another two years.

You have to ask yourself what you are looking for.

If you want a more comfortable car, that handles the best, has the best noise vibration and harshness then you want an '05 GT. (yes it appears the '05 GT out handles the Cobra even with its solid rear axle).

If you want the ultimate straight line performance available in a Ford North America product and don't care about creature comforts than you should get the '03 Cobra.

I also don't think that the '07 Cobra will be $47K. I'd guess for a coupe it will be less than $40K.

you should wait it out, save your moneys, and have the coolest car in 2007!
i dont think trading up would be a good idea. i'm pretty sure dealers will give you very little on the trade in, and it wont be worth it.

just WAIT for the cobra!!!
and it wont cost 47 ^_^

its been a while since youve posted, where you been?

Maybe get an 05 now, and add on some Saleen, Steeda, MRT, etc... goodies to make it pass for a Cobra

Just stay away from the Roush bodykit

If you have the money now for a Steeda, that sounds like a cool best-of-all-worlds suggestion to me!

Welcome back. We've missed you!
