Thumbs down

Finally I drove one. My local dealer had an unspoken for V6 in gray (more copper/green in my eyes). As I expected the fit and finish was really nice it drove superbly and quietly, the acceleration was more than adequate and the handling rivaled my dada's 911. It was really plain though!!! No options except for power seats and AT.

IMO the IUP is a must have!!! So I went to talk with the dealer about ordering. He said that the IUP/ICAP was on hold for the V6. DUH When I pushed him further he said that they were to be held on hold until JOB 2!!! This is the first difinate date i have heard. Has anyone else heard this??? I heard from another dealer it wouldn't be a long hold maybe 3 weeks?!

As I was leaving he said that if he noticed the holds being dropped he would give me a call so I could rush in and order it. Is this just a play to get a deposit out of me or does the que really work this way?

P.S. There is an AUX. button on the radio (this radio was the standard but the source book says it has the AUX. on both the shakers too.) could on add in an aftermarket XM receiver?

HUGLE: Since you keep coming back
....feel free to add a link for everyone else.

FROM forscsflliving:
"As I was leaving he said that if he noticed the holds being dropped he would give me a call so I could rush in and order it. Is this just a play to get a deposit out of me or does the que really work this way?

What difference does all that make? Either you wait for one to hit the lot or
go ahead and 'order' one now. If the salesman didn't get a deposit from you
yet then he really hasn't pulled any ploy and if that's a ploy it's weak anyway.

Sometimes there isn't a job 2, but at the same time there can even be Job 2's and Job3's in rare cases.

Job2 is the second phase of the Mustang rollout. I guess you can lump the V6 Manual and convertible in that. Manufacters rarely have any major changes.

There have been a few topics on the AUX button, but so far we don't have any real information. Apparently there are no connectors on the back of the head unit. I believe at least one member called Delphi, and that didn't shine any more light on the question at hand.

If you find out, let us know!

You know something, myself & another got a similar message like this when I brought up I.U.P. I apologized. I now retract that apology. This doesn't answer the question. Search doesn't work. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack to find an answer to your particular question. And your 1st snide remark about Welcome To Last Month Flag? Check out this newbie's post in the topic Real Deal with the V6 I.U.P Holdup. I got it done. No one here answered the question. All we got were contradicting ones. Well meaning & appreciated help they were, but because they contradicted, we still always had questions. This topics so old? You'll find Ford only made the decision last week. I finally got "the" answer today from Ford Customer Relations. [/b][/quote]

The AUX button does nothing without a DVD hooked up to it. I would think there would be a JOB 2 when the verts join the lineup.

What I don't get is how there are v6's constantly showing up on dealer lots with the IUP here, is the hold just affecting ones that are just now going through the assembly line?

JOB 2 has happened before. It happened when the Sport Trac was first released. They stopped production of the copper orange color (can't remember the actualy name) and replaced it with silver in JOB2. The reason I heard for the switch was the orange paint wasn't holding as well as they'd like it too. Poor paint quailty... so those orange ones are slightly rare.
