Hi everyone,
I just got my 2005 Mustang GT last week and yesterday I noticed a noise that was not there when it got it. It seems like a gear grinding noise. The sound is not very loud. I can hear it the best right when I let off the clutch from a dead stop with very low revs. The sound seems to get softer when I get to higher speeds as I upshift. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

Yes, I've noticed what you're describing in mine. It seems louder than the tranny in the '03 I had. All reports are that the Tremec is a very noisy transmission but it's supposed to be normal. I have the 6 year extended warranty on mine just in case.

That noise almost sounds like engine "Pinging" but I'm sure its not. As you ease off the clutch and move out the noise occurs and as soon as rpms increase it goes away. It must come from the intake/exhaust area? Almost like a harmonic at very low RPM and load conditions. I'm sure it is normal.

3650s=noisy especially in 1st and 2nd coasting. Take it to the dealer to check it otherwise.
