okay so I'm sure this issue has been addressed before but my transmission is starting to go out in my 05 GT and I would like to know if there is any good aftermarket automatic transmissions that are comprable in price to a reman 5r55 s transmission. I do know the solenoid pack is what is bad but I am not sure if I will have the money in time to fix it before it tears something else up as I'm waiting on insurance settlement.

 

I've bought a built "bulletproof" tranny and had that one rebuilt. The cost is about the same. Maybe a little less expensive getting it rebuilt locally because much of the Tranny upgrades remained or didn't need to get repaired. But either way both options were about $3K.
