TPMS, How to tell if wheels have them?

Does anyone know how to tell if a set of wheels/tire have the sensors in them w/o actualy breaking down the tire and looking inside?

Because a lot of ppl who sell take-offs remove the sensors...

Nope. Not without the tool the dealer has to try to learn them.

I tried (on factory wheels) letting the air down to 15 pounds in one tire and the indicator didn't go off, even after starting and driving a very short ways. Now I wonder if they even work, is there any way with out going to the dealer?

I checked the pressure in my OEM 18's the other day and the digital pressure gauge read 26. The sticker on the door jambs says they should be at 32. The low tire pressure light has never come on. I checked the manual to see at what pressure the light would come on and it makes no mention.

Wink TPMS working great!

I know my new 07 "CAL" has them. Because when the dealer switched car over to new Fanblade 18's from the existing Silver Bullit 17's they had on it (18" Bullits were gone off of it). They then reprogramed the Stang's tire size code at the service area. Tried dropping air down to about 15 pounds on left rear tire and drove slowly around the block early on a Sunday morning and Bingo! Warning came on. back home. Aired it back to 32PSI, drove around and warning gone from dash indication. Tested each wheel this way. Mine seem to be working fine! "RC"

I was going to say that they're suppose to come on when a 25% loss is detected.
