[attachmentid=19428]I ordered the Torch Red GT Convertible on Feb. 16 and it arrived on April 27, which was the exact date specified in Ford's communication to the dealer about shipping.
It's a 5 speed manual transmission, which by the way, I found to be extremely easy. Shaker 500 sound system. IUP. Red accent interior. The dealer from which I ordered the car is over a hundred miles away and when the call came, I had no one at the moment to go with me to get it, so I hitched up the car hauler to the trusty Explorer and trailered it home. The trip back yesterday was full of people pulling up beside the car and then beside the Explorer and doing the thumbs up thing, etc. At one point I stopped to gas up the Explorer and the two ladies from the convenience store came out to look at the car, both asking for a ride, and telling me I was a nut not to be driving it. Having earlier ordered a GT hardtop, I can report to you that both cars "feel" almost the same when driving. I just happen to be a real convertible enthusiast. I must also include a note about Lums Ford in Albemarle, North Carolina. The car was ordered exactly as I had specified. They communicated with me and kept me informed every stop along the way. And yesterday, when it came time to pay, the final price was well below MSRP. Now, I've done business with these nice people for over 25 years, so it's proof that loyalty does still count in some cases.
Finally, I am as excited about this car as any I've ever bought, and it's the kind of car that can make those of us in our 50s still feel like 16!

That's my car! The exact car that I have been c/u on since 1/17! The same car that my dealer told me on 4/19 that I would have to re-order as a 2006 because no more vert orders are being pulled! The same car that I ordered from a place I have been dealing with (quite often) for 8 years! No one can imagine how frustrating this is to see something like this happen.
I hope you enjoy it; I guess I will just have to sit here and look at the pictures. Please post back the obvious-how great the car is. Please take my sour grapes with a grain of salt, it just plain stinks waiting.

The photos were taken not long before sunset and all but one are appearing a little darker than the real colors. I'll get one soon in front of the ocean in the sunshine. Then you'll see torch red!

Can I borrow your car for a few days? Just want to see exactly what I am missing. There is no justice in this scheduling system. Hopefully I will be the proud owner of this car's twin sometime soon. Enjoy.

Am I the only one to whom that looks like redfire and not torch red?

Tim,
No your not.. Thosse pics to me definately reveal Redfire. My car is torch and its much brighter even out of the sun then those appear. I think he has himself a Redfire. Could they have possibly put the wrong invoice with the wrong car? Wouldn't surprise me....

I think the car is Torch red, and it's his camera that is off... :notnice:
Look how dark the red leather looks in the pictures, in real life it's as bright as Torch Red paint. In the photos it looks as dark as Red Fire :nono:

It's a beautiful car, but it sure looks like Redfire. Check your paint code.
