Something doesn't seem right here. If you have a 04 GT why would you want a new one so soon? If it were my relatives they would be asking me why I want to trade in so soon. Mustangs are like wine they get better as they age. I can atest to that my 06 gets better the more I drive it.

Hello, I will be purchasing a 2006 mustang this coming weekend and have a few questions for you guys. First of all, I have heard from my family members that I should go with the v6 due to the fact that the gt model has a too big of an engine for what the car weighs. I find this hard to believe since I have read over subject posts concerning how much of a pig the gt mustang is. Is this really true, that the engine is too big for the car?
What the heck does that mean?

Anyway in my opinion, and others (including many magazines/articles) it's the best Mustang ever. With traction control/ABS and it's fit, finish and engineering/execution it's very easy to drive fast, slow or in between. If anything there have been "complaints" that Ford has engineered out the "character" of the new Mustang. It doesn't ride like a buckboard now, the handling is easy and precise, even at speed it's just no big deal: 90 MPH feels like 60.

If you're reckless and stupid (or just unlucky) you can get into trouble. But that can happen in any car, even a Tercel LOL.

Its not the size of the engine, its the weight of the right foot.

I have a 64 1/2 260 V8 coupe, '69 351 Sportsroof, & '89 Gt Convt 5spd. I have drove just about all kinds of Mustangs encluding Boss's (429) (302) and your right about the tail end of the Fox coming around but that is have the fun. If you keep your head they are fine. Had to have a 06, wife wanted me to get a Convt but I am keeping the Fox and orderded the coupe.Cool Pic's of Jasen driving your new Mustang off the truck! I plan on doing the same thing if possible at my dealership. My Vista Blue GT has a 11/7 build date. Can't wait!!

a 4 cyc Civic can be just as dangerous as a V8 Mustang. It boils down to the maturity level of the driver.

Even moreso, if jokerboy decides to put safety asside for his madmods...like cutting factory springs and taking it into a corner too fast...

What? I've never heard of anyone complaining about a car being too fast. Go buy a Civic if small and slow engines is your thing.

It's all true!!! We can't keep hiding the truth any longer!!!!

The engine is FAR too powerful. Ford has severely underrated this motor at 320 ft/lbs of torque. And now, the night staff at our local hydroelectric powerplant have found out about this, and my 'Stang is CONSTANTLY being abducted by them at night to be used a standing replacement for the 40,000,000 HP turboshaft motors used to generate electricity for the metropilitan DC area! These suckers are using MY gas to save cost, and stickin' the price increase to the local consumers!

And the weight.....my god, the weight.....this thing is BEYOND just being porky.....it's a Leviathan of epic porportions. There were some elementary-school kids skateboarding in the street the other day and I asked them what they thought the car weighed.....estimates ran as high as 200,000 pounds!!! You can sense this easily enough when crossing bridges and overpasses. Cracks develop in the concrete, steel I-beams underneath creak and groan like old rotten worm-eaten wood on an old country bridge, oncoming traffic sees what's going on and comes to a complete STOP in fear of a total collapse. Don't believe it? Go try to pick it up... grab a corner of the fender or the wheel and pull.....the thing is going NOWHERE. I worry at night about the foundation of my house under the garage (come to think of it, our lot used to have a slight downward slope to it on the side away from the garage, and now it's level....should have seen THAT coming too!!).

What gets me is how deceiving the whole package is. The fact that it can go 0-60 in 5 secs, and has an amazingly impressive skidpad number really fools you into ignoring these issues. I've been battling a constant problem with the upholstery, it's getting all torn up and pitted from the stereo and heater controls flying off the console and going straight back into the rear seat whenever I take off from a stop!!!

The Geo Metro, on the other hand, is an entirely well-porportioned car with none of these problems and quite suitable for a youth. I recommend one of those instead, and please......please.......for your own sake, leave these cars to be driven by those who can deal with the problems appropriately, we have a social responsibility to see that they dont fall into the wrong hands!

I think the 05 Mustang GT is actually underpowered. I would've been happier with 350HP or even 400HP.

I like my 05 GT but I want more out of it. I've done a few basic mods but it's still not where I would like it to be. The biggest problem with the 05 GT is the power/weight ratio which is too low for my likings. Instead of adding more HPs I would like to lose 500 lbs but I know that's not going to happen.

This car is quick but I must say I thought it was going to be faster before I bought it.

I want an explanation for why they didn't put a 5.4L in this car. Tell your folks that calling 281 cubic inches a "big motor" is down right insulting. Big doesn't even start until 400.

Future special editions most likely.

I, too, feel that the car needs a little more poop. Just waiting for the warranty to expire to slap that supercharger on!

The Mustang motto is "Fast, fun and AFFORDABLE." That's the explanation. That's also why Mustang sales always beat its competitors...affordability.

I'm all for a bigger, better, faster Mustang GT...as long as it doesn't affect the affordability aspect too much...

The guy is playing the dumb card, insulting you pig Mustang owners with the BIG BIG BIG 281ci, and you are catering to him.
I can't wait for April 1st.
