I think a Tiptronic tranny (autostick) like Porsche has would be great. What do you think?

It would be a great addition to the line, but may not happen because it would push the Mustang out of the price range Ford wants to keep it in.

There have been rumors of a similar tranny in the Cobra. Personally, not interested. I like a traditional manual.

Don't those Tiptronic units cost like $5,000 alone??

$33,000 Mustang GT won't sell. Save that stuff for the Germans.

just a little FAQ

The "tiptronic/autostick" transmissions use automatic transmission and you just pick the shift points. You can also get these options on the Dodge Stratus, etc.

an SMG is a Sequential Manual Gearbox which uses the guts of a manual transmission and clutch but controlled electronically. Shifts are much quicker than ever manually. A Mustang test mule was spotted quite a while ago with this, perhaps it shows up on the Cobra.
