Hope you guys don't mind YAP (yet another poll). Now that I've moved beyond C/U, my curiosity about the rest of the process has kicked in, so I thought I would try my hand at a poll.

If folks wouldn't mind answering the question and providing the dates in your reply, I'll see if I can graph the results in some meaningful way.

It will help me guestimate how much longer I'll really be waiting and give me something to do in the meantime.

Thanks,

Ken

Tom,

I know others will respond. I was just making a light hearted remark at the light hearted - I'm sure - "I'm with Stupid..."

Now help me out folks and kindly post.

Thanks.

well, with 17 votes in so far, most respondents have reported 2-3 weeks between being serialized and built.

Is it really that fast?

What do the rest of you think?

Elmo,

That's impressive. The verts do seem to be coming faster.

With 21 votes in, the highest % still goes to 2-3 weeks.

I would have expected a higher number.

I voted based on the date the ERL gave me. From when my car was serialized (4/28) to the projected build week of 5/30 is 4 weeks.

Angela,

Hopefully, yours comes in quicker. There still aren't a lot of data points, but 3 weeks is still the average.

Come on folks! Especially, those of you who have already been built. You know who you are.

Help out the rest of us who are still waiting.

How long did it take?

Thanks,

Ken

I voted 5 weeks. Got VIN # on Feb 24th and GT was built on Mar 30.

Thanks to those of you who took the time to post some additional data points.

Hopefully, I should be confirming my own in another two weeks or so.

3 weeks. But only because they took a 2 week break for ...what was it? That's right........some Christmas & New Years Holiday. Geez. Don't they know my car is more important than some Christmas & New Years break. I mean where are their priorities? j/k.

But it really was 3 weeks because of the 2 week holiday.

Well, now I can answer my own question. In my case, it was 4 weeks (give or take a day) from when I go my VIN until when my car was built.

Seems like most people are making it in 3, but, if you haven't posted yet, pleasew share your experience.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if the term 'serialized' is related to the VIN being assigned to your order. The reason I say this is that in my case the dealer gave me my VIN on November 4 and when I checked with Ford I was told my car was on a Temporary Delay in Production...and remained in that status until early December when I was told 'order has been serialized and waiting for a build date', then a week or so later I got 'scheduled for build week of December 14'.

Based on that I guess it's possible that the term 'serialized' means something else.

Mike,

That's an interesting point. I hadn't heard of that split before, but Ford seems to be good at throwing people curves from the other experiences reported around here.

The pole wasn't meant to be an exact science anyway. Just a way to pass the time...
