Time Flyes

Hello:

It has been awhile since I have made a post on TMS. So I figured I would add a few pics of my 05 GT. I ordered the car way back in Oct of '04 and took delivery on the 16th of December, 2004. The car has a little over 10,500 miles on her now. It has been a trouble free ownership thus far and loving every minute I take her out. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Hey Beachboy,

I'm assuming by your screen name and location that you live near VA beach.

If so, I'm pretty positive that I've seen your car at a few shows, because I remember the GT badges. The show I remember was a show at an Autozone in Va beach about a year ago. (And maybe at the newport news airport, but I don't remember if that was you or not)

If memory serves, you have a powered by ford badge on your airbag. I can't see this in your pics above, but I really liked that badge. It looked like it came from the factory like that.

Mike, you nailed it. It is indeed the Portsmouth campus with the MMBT in the background. It is a good spot for photography.

Thanks for the props, Beachboy! I like the mods you have done so far.

Soon the top will be down almost every day! See you guys around soon!

It's a Virginia thing

Actually, its the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel...yes you read right: A bridge AND tunnel. (seems stupid, you should have one or the other, right?)

It's just one of the many bridges and tunnels we have in the Hampton roads area.

Yeah, that location is AWESOME for taking pictures. Probably the best location in our area.

BTW, does your inspection sticker have the year 04 for the expiration? That's what it looks like, but CAN'T be true.

The James River, but it's not to be confused with the James River Bridge, which is located just a couple of miles away. You can see the James river bridge when driving on the Monitor Merrimac, and vice versa.

The last time I flew out of Norfolk, I looked down to see this line of cars driving on a bridge and disappearing in the water. It was a very weird sight. Was that the MMBT?

Actually, that may have been the Hampton roads Bridge tunnel, as that's close to the Norfolk airport. But, it depends on where you were heading. It could have been the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel, if you were heading up north toward MD, PA, etc.

But, you would have known if it was the bay bridge tunnel. That bridge is EXTREMELY long (I believe it's 20 miles, with numerous tunnel tubes in between as well)

But there's also the downtown tunnel, the Midtown tunnel, the Coleman bridge, and the "highrise bridge" (that's what it's referred to...it has a person's name, but no-one can remember it).

The downtown tunnel even has a lift just after/before the tunnel part(depending on which direction you travel)

Ugh....

One of the things that makes you a "local" is being able to name all of those bridges.
