Congrats on all your improvements! Especially the the Saleen S/C.Thats gotta be a good investment.

I'm on my third summer with my 07'GT .I'm considering trading up to a black 08' GT 500 because they are selling it at sticker.

Hey Tom, congrats on 3 wonderful years. I also love how cool your Stang has progressed during the past 3 years as well. It's almost like getting a new car, whenever you add more mods to it. This way, your car always remains fresh, and doesn't become boring.

In the meantime, keep up the good work, and here's to the next 3 years.

Rocky

Kudos to you Tom and that beautiful car. You and a few others here (TacoBill to name one) have been quiet an inspiration on turning what I call a "blank canvas", into a thing of beauty... Wow!!

Like you, I like that big torque hit off idle. To me, it pays homage to the ferocious big blocks of yesterday. I was trying to set my mind to go N/A (heads, easy cams, maybe internals, etc) but my heart always goes back to the Saleen S/C, plus it looks so good.

One question and then I'll bounce; Is that your stock block pushing all that big horsepower? I'm asking because for ME that's plenty of power for the streets because mine is a daily driver and the quicker I can get there, the better. 400 to 425 rwhp and I'm good to go.

Yep, stock block..... at 400-450 rwhp, you'll be fine on the stock block as long as you have a good custom tune (Brenspeed, etc.) and premium fuel.

I figured that I had posted enough exterior pix, may as well leave some room for other members to share their experiences. Darrell, your car is a great example; why don't you take some time to post up some pix here? Anyone else, please feel free to jump in here and post up some pix and info!

Thanks for the reply Tom. My brother (a fellow muscle car head from the GM camp) keeps telling me to go with a S/C instead of pouring all that money into a build up. And especially if I'm satisfied with the 4 to 450 rwhp range.. As far as the tune, that WILL be done by Chris Rose at Tillmanspeed. (Install of the S/C also, if they'll do it)

Yeah man... It's been almost two years (Nov 28th) and 31000 plus miles and this has been one sweet ride and I mean it. Nothing major at all. And since my custom tune at Tillmanspeed, this car has been flat out flawless. I studder when I try to explain this tune, get frustrated and say, "Man, just get in and let me take you for a spin!"

Like I said, your car is beautiful but I want people to think mine is a stocker by the looks. I'm just gonna upgrade to the 18 in. polished bullitts. S/C, long tubes with stock mufflers and a few things to tighten it all up. It's been one h3lluva ride!

Thanks, Tom, for sharing your thread with us! Great story of what you have done and where your modding adventures have taken you over the past three years.

So here goes my story. It was late in the '05 model year, and Mineral Greys where scarce due to the first year rush and the model year was coming to a close. I already knew that Min Greys would not be built in '06. I searched over the entire southeast by calling every stealership from Texas to North Carolina for a Mineral Grey manual with leather. I only found one that wasn't already spoken for. She was built on 4/27/05, and I picked her up May 14, 2005 only 15 miles from home.

Here she is the first time in the driveway:

And after a bath, still had a little glue on her from the protective plastic

After a tint job and some Ford Pony Spinners installed. The funny thing about these pics, I titled them "after" since I already had the "before" stock pics. How little did I know how many "after" versions there would be!!

Now time to add a few more ponies! I decided after my TMS research that a JLT, SCT, and a custom dyno tune from Doug at BAMACHIPS was the way to go. One dyno pull and I had an extra 27hp! WOOT!

It looked so good, I added a little more under hood bling using UPR billet aluminum.

Then a some slash/fade Saleen style stripes. Still not sure if I like the MUSTANG GT on the side, but people where always asking me if it was a GT, so I thought they would be fine.

Then I ordered a set of BSM 10" Black Stripes. I did all the work myself, actually, I've done all the work on my car except for the dyno tune and tinting the windows. I started off with just the hood and roof, and blacked out the section under the lower grille. I also tried some black outs for the foglights and turn signals, which I later removed.

I finished up the bumper stripes and added a SS Center fog light grille with a '67 pony/tri-bar replica.

Inside, I installed the Redline shifter boot, armrest cover, and e brake boot. Doesn't match the Parchement color exactly, but I like the darker tone a little better anyway, and the feel of leather awesome! Also got a vinyl script "Mustang" for the dash.

Under the hood, I had my cam covers powder coated and tried the Midwest plenum cover. Also added the UPR Aluminum fuse cover with an '05+ fender pony/tribar.

When the Ford Plenum cover came out, I had to have it! Much better with the Mineral Grey JLT, and also added the Strange Strut Tower Brace.

I really wish this brace would have fit over the Kenne Bell! Loved the way it looked and made the car feel tighter.

I could put up an entire thread on the Kenne Bell instal, which took me over 40 hours. But I'll just post up one pic and say I loved doing it so much, I helped a buddy of mine instal his for free, well maybe a few pizzas and beer!

It took one drive with the KB to realize I needed a few things. Brakes for sure, some bigger tires, and some anti-squat brackets. And if I'm going to wider tires, need some wider wheels. Taller tires raised the rear end, so also put on some rear lowering springs and centered them with adjustable LCAs.

These pictures where taken at an "under water" bridge in Alabama after driving for 3 hours in the rain. I love the way this color hides dirt and road grime.

Needed to center the rear axle with the lower springs, so a CHE adjustable PHB and slapped on an LPW aluminum diff cover while under there.

Needed some extra gauges to monitor boost and fuel pressure and installed the SOS pod with Autometer Ultralites. Should get a Wideband next and dump the fuel pressure gauge, which is monitored by the DashHawk anyway. Also changed out the dash gauge overlay from black to this Aluminum color.

And then a few more cosmetic mods, swapped out the stock wing for a FRPP GT500 wing

Some MGW side mirror covers

And installed a painted Roush hood scoop which I got from Rich aka GRAYPNY after it hung on his garage wall for a year when he went Shaker. Got a great deal on it and the stripe even matches!
