I am thinking of buying/ordering a new GT to use as a weekend and occasional daily driver, and was wondering about the following:

1) If I work it a bit, can I get a $1000 or so discount off MSRP deal on an ordered car?

2) I used to own a '68 Shelby GT350 Convertible from 1987 until 1991 (sure do wish I still had it since it's worth 2 to 3 times what I sold it for back then), and have always liked the white with blue stripes '65 and '66 GT350 look, and wondered if anyone here had any pics of a white '05 with blue Shelby stipes I could see (real pics...not photoshops).

Thanks.

Mike

You should be able to get 1k below MSRP without much difficulty at all. I got mine for 1k over invoice (bout 1.5k below MSRP with my options).

I got that deal with only talking to 2 different dealerships in the area. I'm going to be using the AQHA discount to basically get it for 500 over invoice after rebate. Not too shabby for so little effort put into it.

I think if you were willing to travel to get your new car, you could swing a decent deal. Here is a hint ... search for posts that are written by someone with the nick-name of Karpro

B) Just keep at it! Don't give in and pay their price. Yeah, join AQHA for discount.
Learn from this amazing site! It has done wonders for many of us. Happy Trails!!

You have a nice collection of cars! I'm sure if you do some footwork, you will be able to get a deal, especially on an ordered car. If it is on the lot, it might be impossible.
