No mag chloride here...just rocks...ick! I think I am going to garage my stang this winter and get a beater. I am moving to Santa Barbara, CA next summer to go to grad school.

Yeah i am pretty sure they still use Salt here in Utah the "?" state. we just got our first batch of snow down in the valley a couple of days ago. im glad we dont use that mag stuff sounds like a hassle.

Yeah, I'm with you on that on Justin... 'sept I'm going the other way.... movin' to Florida in August..... not for school, though.... just 'cause I'm tired of the snow.

So....Let's get back to the initial question here. Does anyone know the temp the thermostat is set at?

It is probably 180 or 190 F

I believe it is the same regardless of where the car is shipped. Maybe you should take your car to the dealer, the car not heating properly could be a sign of low antifreeze, or some kind of cooling system issue. Maybe the 'stat is stuck open. If you engine is running cold all the time it also can contribute to low fuel mileage.
