Should be a National meet carshow and driving event for 2005-06 Mustangs ?

RaGsHoCkEy88 4/28/05 07:23 AM

i voted yes but the thing is where because people from all over would have to come...maybe something like carlisle in PA?? giant swap meet kinda thing?? its the biggest in the world.

Taxidad 4/28/05 07:44 AM

:nice: Good idea for venue.

Zip34 4/28/05 07:46 AM

I would love to take a vacation and travel to a national meet. I've only taken mine to local meetings, but they are pretty small and uneventfull.

05mach1 4/28/05 09:42 AM

I'll planing have it at Lowes Speedway in Concord,NC or Carlisle All Ford show.

I'll need feed back. from 05/06 Mustangs owners. :nice:

I know what talking about :(

I think thats a great idea, Lets pick a place that would function as a good vacation spot as well.....hey we could do it in southern califorina. I'm free this sat. :-D

JessicaRabbitt 4/28/05 10:53 AM

Honestly, great idea, but you would have to find out who is planning on attending, then find a central place to ALL of them. The actually midpoint of the States is the triangle of Des Moines (Iowa), Topeka (Kansas), and Lincoln (Nebraska). Most if not all of us would make it a road trip, and putting it in the center of the states would mean more people could come. Course, those that live close to those areas, would be stoked. LOL Would have to plan a couple days for drive time etc.

I do this every year with another board. 50 members, (but we dont have to drive) we normally get anywhere from 20-40 that show. We pick a point in the country, and we literally take over that spot!

I like the logic behind both stoic and JR's arguments. Central = fair, but how much fun (I'm asking, cos I really don't know), "resort" type location = regionally biased, so unfair, but fun.

Personally, I don't mind driving my car all the way out to the West Coast... :D

Would be good like St.louis MO. ?

Kansas City sounds like the biggest city in that area.

Right now Iam talking with Lowes Speedway in Charlotte, NC sofar so good for a show and drive around the track to. at their Speedway plus their big Mustang place where have over 250 Late model Mustangs call Dennis Carpenter house of Mustangs. :nice:

All the pre 05 Stangers will be jealous! I vote for a place that's fun more so than centrally located.

I really like Charlotte MS (otherwise known as Lowes!) - I attended the Mustang 30th Anniversary show there. And it's convenient for me. But a central location like St. Louis or KC would draw better for a truly National meet. There's a great speedway near St. Louis. IMHO.

:)

Kansas City! It is the most centrally located city, and it has a nice raceway... Kansas City International Raceway. Of course, I am not biased or anything.

JessicaRabbitt 4/28/05 03:16 PM

I would love to drive KC... hubby grew up in Topeka, his dad is KC alumni.. they could fly out, we drive, could do a family reunion, and Mustang thing!!!!

Now.. just gotta talk him into it, he is happily no longer a KS resident, LMAO

drylbrg 4/28/05 03:19 PM

OK if we are going to drive across the country it has to be somewhere that everybody wants to go to. That includes wives, husbands etc. I nominate New Orleans. Good food, good music, lots to drink.

That's a pretty long drive for people in places like Seattle, NYC, and Canada.

Enfynet 4/28/05 06:46 PM

Cedar Point

I know it's not super close to everyone, but it's one of my favorite places to go.
