I finally got a chance to test drive a V6 Mustang today at a local Dealership in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area. They also had a new GT also, but it was sold in the morning before I could get there.

I was very impressed with the interior quality, it compares well to any other car that I've seen recently.

I did notice that the lime green V6 in the show room did have some minor orange peal on the rear top, but it wasn't too bad. I tried to take a picture of it, but it didn't come out that well.

When I went for a test drive I felt at first that the Mustang was very big, but I quickly got used to it. It had a firm, but not too firm ride, and the V6 seemed to have good, but not great power. The brakes were also firm, but they could have had just a little more stopping power. All in all I feel they the V6 Mustang is a good car to have, but maybe not as much of a "sports car" as I might have wanted.

I think I'm going to wait for a test drive in the GT

Lime Green one in the show room. I liked it a lot, even with a little orange peel.

The Engine, it seemed kind of small for 210 HP.

FINALLY. Someone got the sense to take the spare tire's pic. You know, I've always felt those things don't get the admiration and respect they deserve...

On a side note, the well the spare tire goes in is kinda cool looking, actually. I think it's kinda pretty, the way it's stamped. Serious, yo.

Secondary tangent thought: How dumb are we as a group when the spare tire actually has to have 'SPARE TIRE' on it?

BTW, I would guess that this is the 'Ad car' yeah?

Wait, I thought of some more stuff.

I love the 'Optional' automatic transmisson on the V6, seeing as you can't even get a manual yet. And as a person, I find it somewhat weird. The old Firebirds and Camaros came with autos standard, and you had to pay to get a manual... Funny that. Besides I think that you should just get to PICK one, and they don't charge extra. Oh well. I want a manual in mine. But if I have to get an auto, well, they're gonna be givin' it to me free, or gettin' me a stick.

Secondly, even though I find the well for the spare attractive, that doesn't look like it's gonna be fun gettin' it out. Why, it looks like they got those 'one way' keeper things surrounding the tire. Like a pitcher plant and the flies. Flies go in, but they can't go out. Muahahahah!!!

Maybe I need sleep...

Well, the reason you had to pay for manuals is because Camaros and Firebird's are just backwards cars only bought by backwards people.

There, I said it.

Great pics:

question
-do all cloth interiors have mustang writing on the seats? (front and back?) (anyone have shots of cloth seats in all 3 colors?)

comment
-why does ford give the V6 that butt ugly stripe along the sides when you get the wingy...please ford, save yourself some money and offer (canadain) a delete for both silly tape stripe and wingy...heck ill even pay the same, just give me that dern option!

V6 cloth interior has the "mustang writing", GT cloth has running horses.

I have had two Mustangs over the past 22 years and when my factory ordered Mustang arrives in May of 2005 that will be the third Mustang. Over the past 22 years I have heard people state that the Mustang is not a great sports car. Several reports recently on this forum and magazines have suggested the same.

What the senders of these reports are forgetting is that the Mustang is not a sports car in the European variety but rather an example of American muscle and better known as a muscle car. The drawn to the Mustang for a lot of Mustang enthusiasts is that it performs beyond the average North American produced family car with the exception of perhaps the Corvette, and it is at a price that is within reach of the average North American.
