I went back to Five Star Ford in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to test drive a Mustang GT today and was really impressed!

I drove the white GT that you see for just a few miles and really liked the way it handled all the bumbs in the road. There was a lot of construction and the roads were a bit torn up, but the Mustang handled it with no problem. It seems like the Mustang is a perfect car for Texas since the roads are not so good here.

When we were going back to the Dealership I got behind some guy in a rusty POS and got bugged since he was going so slow. When a spot opened up I floored it and just flew by and around him. The GT has lots of power!

I was also impressed by the stability of the Mustang GT. When I was floring it to get around the jerk, the car was stable as anything. Real nice.

I was going to go ahead and order one, but I have a lease on my truck that isn't up untill Sept. of 05 and I'm pretty upside down right on it. Heck!

But my time will come!

Nice, Falchion! Thanks for the notes about bump/bad road handling, that's the issue people will have with the live axle but as you say it handles perfectly anyway.

And in the ongoing debate - the option rims definitely look better than the bullitts on the GT. Something about proportion..

I actually like the bullits better myself, but I might get some 18 inch after market rims. They didn't really have any that fit the 05 Mustang in the accessories Deptarment at the Dealership, but he said they might get some other ones in for the Mustang in the next few months.

I did get a 05 Mustang Acessories catalog though!

Glad you guys like them, the GT was really a lot of fun to drive. Can't wait to get one, but I need a lot more money for the down payment. Overtime, here I come!

I also forgot to tell how nice the shifter was to drive with. It's been a couple of years since I had a five speed, but I adjusted to the five speed in the Mustang with only a little trouble finding third gear for the first time. The car has a real wide torque range, so you don't to have to shift all the time like you might in a car with a smaller engine. In fact, I was doing fifty in third gear! Really the five speed in the Mustang is great, and I think it would be pretty good for someone who has limited experience with a manual gear box.........

You guys who haven't driven the Mustang are going to like it! Enjoy!

How many "bumbs" did you hit? Did they scream?

What gives with the stereo? The sticker shows the in dash 6-CD/mp3 player as standard equipment? Shouldn't that be an option instead of standard? I was under the impression the standard stereo was a single CD and didn't include the mp3. Am I missing something?

It's standard on the Premium edition.

Don't worry. You're not alone.
I downloaded them also.
Just ordered my white GT this week.

Nice pics! I drove by there on Sunday to check out Five Star and saw the white one outside. The Sonic Blue one must have been picked up already since I didn't see it in the show room. Nice white...Light Gray Leather interior w/o IUP.

I did notice some bugs embedded on the headlights of the white car... some nice spirited driving.

Yeah, the Sonic Blue was sold to another Dealer for full retail since he just had to have that color! The Dealer's owner, not another customer as I understand it.....
