went from a 96 mustang V6 (mechanic scrwed up brakes...totalled)
to a 95 V6 (totalled some mexican dude that didnt speak english decided i didnt need the front of my car at a red light)
then sol my sister a 2003 V6 mustang and took her 93 probe as something to use till im ready
im darn near ready

leather seems to be too much of a pain in the hiney .. i know il never properly care for it as its a friggin chair =p

i writing down some figures
and with payment insurance and gas the Gt will cost me about 725 a month total where the V 6 would come to 575 a month total
maybe i should get a loaded V6 .. but i dont wanna be the one who thinks for the next 60 months..should have gotten the GT .. argh its mental torture!

I got the upgraded rims and wish I didn't because I don't even use them anymore.
Not sure why you think leather is a pain. All I do is put some conditioner on it every 2 months. Takes 5 minutes.
Don't settle for something you don't want. You'll be kicking yourself everyday for doing so.
Hopefully this mustang lasts longer than your other ones.

What I think (like Werked, I'm in Brooklyn, btw, and drive frequently in the city and surrounding area):
1. Get a manual. NYC traffic isn't really that bad. It's not like LA.
2. Get the leather - just looks and feels so much better.
3. I'm assuming you're talking an '06 here. In that case, get the fanblades, unless you like the bullets better.
4. Good call with the Shaker 500. The 1000 is overly-expensive overkill.
5. Avoid totaling it, as you'll :cry:
Oh, and, yeah - GET THE GT!!
FWIW, I could only find a V6 to test drive and, after doing so, almost scrapped my order altogether as it just was underwhelming to me. I'm happy I went on faith and the word of those on these boards who had their GTs though, b/c it's just a whole 'nother universe.

I say get what you want and can can afford. Yes the GT is bad A** and a manual can be more fun then an auto but you have to look at what you can live hapily with. I got the V6 for now since thats what was in my price range and compared to my old car( 89 taurus), it blows it away. Thats not to say though that in a few years when I have a steady full tiem job that i'm going to move on to a GT.

If you're accident prone, I think you should get a v6. I'm not sure why, but it seems like most people on this board continuously chant

I say get what you can afford, but try to get all the safety features you can like side air bags. And since you don't think you're going to take care of the leather, go cloth. If you're going with the GT, the upgraded 17s look nice, but since Legendary Lime is a color that tries to go for a classic look, I think the bullits are better. But either one looks nice.

see there one problem .. id absolutely LOVE to get the manual ..except i never drove manual .. im dying to learn but dont know anyone that has one .. are there schools?? i really dont want to screw up ther gearbox on the brand new one

Try Avis. I've heard that's good. And Enterprise. Oh, and Hertz.
All good manual driving schools. Really really good schools.
Seriously, not knowing how to drive a manual is a poor excuse for not getting one, as it really only takes a day of heavy driving or a week of light driving to be completely comfortable with it. If you have a friend that has a manual car and is willing to teach you before you pick up the 'stang - great! If not, hopefully you know someone who knows how and can teach you on a rental car. If you know the general idea and the basics, you'll be just fine. I piked up my '05 about 300 miles away from where I live having only driven a manual a couple times in my life. A few weeks before pickup, I had a friend let me drive around in his car since it had been years before that, and only on one or two isolated occasions. It was good though, just getting a little practice before picking it up - gave me the confidence that I could manage to get her home in one piece (which I did just fine). Biggest thing is, you don't want to look like an ahole pulling out of the lot and stalling or whatever... :bang:

Just get a new mustang. I've run side by side with a lot of V6 mustangs that look just as good as my GT, and the smle on their faces are just as big as the one on mine.
Whichever one you get you should consider yourself blessed and fortunate.
