T5 Woes
Hey guys,
I was wondering what might be causing my T5 on my 05 V6 to not want to downshift into 2nd gear.
It upshifts into 2nd perfectly, but on the downshift I have to either double-clutch and rev match, or VERY quickly move it into 2nd after taking it out of 3rd.
I was thinking it is a blown synchro, but I heard those cause lots of grinding, and this just won't select 2nd, but there is no grinding at all.
Also, if you know what it is, how much/how hard is it to fix?
thanks a lot guys!

Could be a blocking ring. The blocking rings function (to my understanding) is to stop the syncro from spinning and allow the downshift to occur. Seriously a job for a trained and experienced MANUAL trans guy. Don't just assume any national chain person can handle this either. Ask around and find someone who has fixed them before.
