Thanks Brad. Good thing you posted 'cause Doug and I were packing and on our way to Ford HQs and kick some serious $$$!!!

Bill and JMays owe you... BIG TIME!

WHAT!? And you didn't invite me to come along?

Oh well, guess I would have gotten sidetracked at the first Hooters I saw anyway.

Thank you for debunking this and posting it as a sticky. Darn internet rumours and people that pass them on.

This is very good news indeed. It didn't make sense that Ford would drop SVT while dodge has their hemis and Chevy has their SS's. Thanks Brad B)
Don't forget Saturn's Red Line.

And, as a side note, the new Chevy SuperSlows are a joke in the performance world. :notnice:

Hopefully it'll be ready by next fall, sounds like it will if there concentrating all their efforts. I may rethink commiting myself to the '05 saleen "E" as i think the cobra has more potential in the power department

so is the rumor about the lightning being dropped true?

I would say no, but I don't know for sure, they have competition now with the new Ram out, they have to keep it going.
The Lightning is "postponed". As he said all efforts are being put toward the Cobra. Hopefully that means a late 2005 appearance. [/b][/quote]
Ack......Lightning postponed.

I like the new stang, but sometimes you need a fast vehicle that can haul a keg of beer, a lawn mower, and some 2x4's. It will be hard to give up my truck, but eventually I'll need a replacement.

At the same time...?
Don't want to be anywhere near that worksite

Whoever doubted SVT would be gone? Thanx for showing the light Brad

Justin...how 'bout this thought....a Saleen "Cobra"! Just get a Cobra when it comes out and take it to Saleen for a conversion. Saleen did a few "cobra" conversions with the sn95's, so why not with the new stangs?

BTW....I went to Anaheim yesterday and nearly wet my pants seeing the new Saleen. Too bad I don't have a good camera so I could post, but you saw it and I'm sure you had almost the same reaction. I LUV THAT CAR!!!!

glad you made it, it;s completely different seeing that car in person isn't it? I love pictures but i loved it even more in person. Is that how it works you just take the car to the plant and they'll convert it? I thought it had to be ordered like that i've heard there were only a handful made on the sn95 platform. I'm hoping we'll know something by winter or by summer when the new cobra's coming out. Irvine's not even that far away so taking it to the saleen plant wouldn't be a problem.

I just can't stop thinking about that car! It is just truely amazing! I was just completely blown away by it. My friend and I must have spent almost an hour just staring at it, then we left to look at the other cars and spent about a half hour looking at the c6 vette and spent about 45 mins staring at the GR-1 Shelby, then back to the Saleen again. The most interesting thing about the car that just draws you in and kinda mesmerizes you is the paint. I wonder if this is the same silver that was on the 05 concepts? That thing just glistened in the light like a diamond! The only thing that bothered me a bit was the huge spoiler tacked on top of the ducktail. At first I didn't notice it that much cuz it kinda blended in, but after looking at it a while you do realize that it breaks the line of the car. Another thing that I noticed, was that the blacked out tail panel covering the third section of the tri-bar lights were separate from the center piece, therefore, you could just easily pry it off. Anywho...I luv the car and its a shame I didn't take any pix.

As for the Saleen Cobra conversion....yeah ya do have to order it, but it'll be great to have a limited edition mustang like that.

Back on topic....I am absolutely relieved that SVT is still in business. Looks like I'll still be buying that 07 Cobra I can't wait to get my hands on!

Oh, I wasn't talking about the SSR. That's just a novelty, anyway.

I was talking about the Silverado SS, Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS, etc...

Really, what r these new motors? I've never heard of the hurricane or the one that everyone was wanting for the V6. Is it just a larger modular motor or what?
