Sun roof question

I recently bought a 2006 GT. It has what appears to be a factory installed sunroof, but I can't find any documentation for it in the papers I got with the car. How can I find out if it is a factory (or dealer) install, or if it's aftermarket?
Thanks in advance,
Jay

Bring your vin# to a fords parts department. They can pull up a build sheet with all of your options from the factory.

it was NOT a factory option. These were not available from Ford. Odds are, this was a dealer installed modification, or a the previous owner had it installed.

My dad's '06 GT has one.. it was installed by the dealer and he really likes it!

Can't feel the body twist with the aftermarket sunroof? My cousin put an aftermarket sunroof in his Chevy Xtreme pickup and the entire truck felt different.

the center roof panel on the S197 is not structural from what Ive read, one of the few cars that can suffer no ill effects from a sunroof.

A: No structure is removed when installing the GLASSBACK on the Mustang! All the roof structure is along the roof edges and no cross member exists. The glass itself reacts like a windshield and if the glass breaks it is held together with the laminate that is built into the glass. We did crash test the Mustang, FMVSS 216 and it met and/or exceeded Federal and OE standards

Well it was designed with the convertible in mind and it can be converted to an entire glass roof so I don't see why a sunroof would be a problem

Convertibles usually have extra under body support to compensate for the lack of roof structure.
