As reported by Maverick on the "New scoop on 05 " thread, it appears that my order falls in the "Early" pre build group........so the actual Job 1 for full production appears to be in order. B)

On this document there looks to be another Mustang on order with a "temp delay" status listed in the production date space. This appears to be a GT. Just an observation. As stated before by those in THE KNOW I think it will be luck of the draw as to who gets their cars first. Just based on who ordered what and which trims Ford is set-up to build right off???

This is the "Second" early order from the dealer.....no one has purchased it yet. I think you are right about the Luck of the draw. There may yet be holds put on the order.

You guys know more about Ford orders than most dealership employees. That 8/23 is a schedule date, so Bullitman looks like a lucky winner of an early build car. Ford, as usual, is giving the dealers virtually no info. I am as surprised as anyone to see a customer order with a pre Sept 7 build day. I doubt there will be a lot of cars that early, so take it easy on your dealer if he tells you that you don't have a build date yet.
I can't wait to see how this launch goes. It is so important for Ford. I hope it goes well.
I did ask my regional order manager why the Mustangs were showing Temp Delay. She said it was because Ford hadn't assigned build weeks yet and it signified just a holding pattern. No real problem, just waiting for definite production plan.
If I hear anything else you all will be the first to know, after my salespeople.

Your dealer may not be a fault for anything. I haven'e heard anything for over a month now since I got my DORA, however I know the orders are picked at random for the most part from the Computer Order Slection COS system and it just picks cars out that it wants. That being said your dealer may not have put a high priority on your order either. I must agree I want my car now too.

Can we ask our dealer to put a "high priority" on our order? Does that entail anything on our part besides asking? Like $?

Bullittman: When did you place your order?
Thanks!

I ordered mine from the dealership on 6/15/04. I was finally able to get my DORA last week. The order date on the DORA is 7/1/04.
My dealer took 2 weeks to place my order, and the priority code is 40. I know for a fact that I ordered the first '05 from this dealer. I brought them the order guide (as many of you also did). My problem is that being the first order receives a priority of 40, and it took them two weeks to place the order. Now I'm further back than I should be on the list to have mine built.

As Dallas just asked, is there any way to change any of this (order priority)?

I placed order right around the end of the month of May. The priority code needs to be 10. You should contact the dealer to be sure they change that in the system or your car will be pushed back in the line (Kevin or BEK can confirm this). From previous buying experience I was familiar what to ask about and keep on top of. Good luck and be persistent. This site has accumulated invaluable knowledge that you can use for your benefit.

It just generates a date, it will change to "TEMP DELAY" when it expires, just like everyone we have.

I can only speak from my experience.......when I ordered my GT the service manager input priority 10 right then and placed the order. A day or two after that I rec'd the DORA ( Explained in the sticky thread by Kevin) and that showed the Priority 10. I can't say where Priority 15 would place your order.

Bullittman- the last 5 digits of your VIN are 00748, so that would put you way up in the pack. Do you think this has anything to do with your car being submitted to the plant? Is the VIN order dependant on when the order was placed, or when the car is being built? The last 5 digits of my VIN are 02167, so I'm up there, but plenty are in front of me. But my order was placed before the last week of May, so it was real early. My question is this... does anyone know how the VIN's work? Are they put in that order going by the date they are ordered, or by date of production?
