Strut Tower Brace

Hey All,

For those of you who have installed a strut tower brace, do you feel it made a difference in the feel of your GT? What kind of brace did you buy? Where did you buy it? How much?

I don't think you'll ever "feel" it. Actually, I think there isn't really any means to "measure" the difference. That said, it's a fact that the strut towers do flex under loading, so it will help keep things square and reduce the effects of aging over time. They aren't really needed on the street unless you drive the car really hard.

I have a chrome FRPP strut bar on my 2006 for 2 reasons, one it was given to me by my salesman when I bought the car and two it looks good with the hood open. Other than that, no real gains, maybe like said above but I woud not spend $300+ like some of the others on the market for a street daily driver.

I think it'd make more of a... no, I KNOW it'd make more of a difference on an older 'Stang than an S197, because they're pretty stiff.

Any improvement is still an improvement, even if it isn't readily noticable.

I have the BMR brace that clears the factory engine cover. Lots of people have had problems with the upper strut bearings and I have had a strut tower brace since day 1 when I got the car and have had zero issues. I believe it has something to do with the brace being on there the whole time but who knows. It certainly doesn't hurt to have it.

I have the upper and lower brace on my car I think it firms things up a bit. You can make your own.
