Street Scene Driving Light Upgrade for S197

Has anyone given these a try on their Stang?

Street Scene 950-30090

They are supposed to be direct-fit replacements for the stock foglamps. These units use H3 bulbs and are intended to be driving lights.

I like the fact that the housing is made of steel and the lens is glass, compared to the cheapo plastic the OEM pieces are. What I'd be concerned over is they are "driving" lights that mount in the traditional high-beam location. And because they do not have a sharp horizontal cutoff like fog lamps, they wlll appear to oncoming traffic as high beams..... I think they'll be more of a headache than anything.....

Read that carefully, the description says they are rectangular, not round. The picture doesn't always match the product.

Summit's description is a generic description. The photograph indicates it is supposed to be a direct fit replacement for our fogs.

I don't see where it says they are a direct replacement. It appears to me to be a universal driving light that is 2x4 inches rectangular.

The Mustangs Unlimited catalog and the Street Scene description indicate they are replacements for the stock fogs:

Driving Light kit to match GT style is sold as a pair. This is great if you are trying to convert your V6 into a GT
The photograph shows a direct-replacement lamp with a non-stock reflector. It does not appear to be a 2"x4" rectangular universal driving light.

I think they would be great if they bolt right in and can adjust them so they don't shoot too high. The problem with glass is that rocks break glass when they hit it...I've had my share of glass foglights under the bumper cracked by gravel. The plastic ones don't break...not so cheapo if you don't have to ever have to replace them.

I plan on getting the lights that go with the GT/CS bumper cover since I've got that cover on order. That way I can go with the Bullitt grille and delete the grille lights altogether.
