I really want to test drive a mustang as soon as they show up at one of the local dealers, but I have already ordered my stang so I won't be buying one from the particular dealer.

I don't feel right about being untruthful with the salesman to get a test drive, but I really want to drive one. I guess I can look at it as I am entitled to a test drive from Ford since I am buying one. I guess you can rationalize anything if you try.

Any thoughts from the salesmen in this forum? Does it just go with the territory? Is it no big deal? I know no one likes having their time wasted.

Your dealer will let you drive one before yours comes in ...

Mine is going to be the first one to arrive at my dealer.

All you gotta do is go down and drool over them. I went down to the lot the day the 04 F150s came in. Wanted to see the new body style up close. Salesperson begged me to get in and drive one, even after I told her I had no intention of buying one.

I refused because I knew if I did, I would want one. Couldn't have that and my Mustang, so I opted for staying with the Mustang. :-)

You better believe I'll be down there to give the Stang the same greeting. Only this time, they won't have to beg too hard :-)

They should get some stock orders before your 10/11 build date ...

As far as taking advantage of test drives -

you KNOW the dealers will be placing dealer tags on at least one for the GSM to cruise around in, etc.

Wouldn't YOU if you were the dealer?

If they want you to drive it, Drive It! It only requires a little self-control to walk back off the lot without buying.

I know I will be going and looking for some test drive fixes. I'll be letting them know I want a vert, so they cannot sell me today anyway. But they will want the opportunity to talk to me. A test drive just MIGHT give them that opportunity.
