I am just starting to notice a trend, and I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it also.
After I fill up with gas, I usually reset the trip odometer and the MPG tracker. The trip computer will track these fine until I shut off the car. When I restart it the first time after the reset, the trip odometer will be reset to zero and the MPG tracker will restart. After this, the trip odometer will work as expected. I have had this occur after my last 4 fill ups.
I plan on checking if this occurs after I reset only one or the other tracker.

Do you shut off the car while filling up, I seem to remember something
in the manual about having to turn the switch to off for the car to reconize
the fill up?

Who doesn't shut their car off during fill ups? Isn't it a bit dangerous to leave the vehicle running while filling up?

you'd be surprised. just keep an eye out while filling up, you'll see it. alot of stations i regularly go to now yell at people over the intercom if their car is running or if they are on their cell phone.

Jeffs05GT - that was exactly why I noticed it. I filled up and reset the odometer, then immediately drove to a friend's house about 20 miles away. When I got back in the car, the trip odometer showed zero. My first thought was that the battery or electrical system had glitched, but the radio presets were still there. After a few fillups, I noticed that it only happens on the first ignition cycle after the reset.

Looks like everyone with the issue should report it to their dealer so Ford can start working on a resolution.

I haven't noticed this problem.
But, yes you would be surprised to see how many people leave their car running while filling up. I even saw one guy smoking a cigar while filling up. I shouted over to him that it is a little dangerous to smoke while filling up. He got made at me and kept smoking. So I told the attendent. She ran out to him like a bat out of heck. He got even more POed at me and put it out.
