OK, the “small map pocket thread” has me thinking…

What is designed to fit in the slot directly under the center console lid???

My Expedition holds a box of tissues; the ones you find in the checkout impulse buy area of your convenient mega store.

Nevertheless, what were the engineers thinking would fit in that area???

I keep my bank deposit slips in that spot. Nothing else seems to fit.

 

That's the spot for a microfiber cloth to wipe your dash, etc with.

 

Registration and Proof of Insurance?

 

I believe it is meant for those little paks of Kleenex....

 

I put my ipod in it when I park so it doesn't get hot and crack (more).

 

it is a tradition with the mustang, ever since it came out in 64 Ford has always added a box of tissues in the glove box from the factory. Then when they add the center armrest they put them in the armrest but now Ford does not do that anymore

 

I keep a microfiber cloth to clean of the Z1 screen and some napkins there.

 

Wow...I didn't know that was there.

 

I'm guessing it's there so when you finally mashed the pedal down you can wipe off the tears of joy????

 

I keep napkins in mine. Not that i eat in the car.

What about the little hidden compartment under the ashtray. What 'legitmate' purpose is that for?

 

Ashtray.....ummm....there isnt one in the mustang

Hmmm.. is this an overseas option that doesn't exist in the US?? Anyone else have an ashtray or am I the only one??

 

Mustangs in the US aren't sold with an ashtray, it's an option you have to buy from the parts department

It comes standard here. Even though I'm a smoker I don't smoke in my car. My ashtray is full of baking soda.
