Thanks, lmao at GT447.
A friend of mine has the GT500, i was wondering how close i'd be with a tune. It looks like 400 rwhp for me with a tune, so he's still got 50 more, it would be a real close race.
The only thing that might save me is gearing, i have 3:73's and he has 3:31's.

You should be able to beat him. I raced a good friend with a 2007 GT500, He has a Lund tune, smaller pulley and a CAI and I was Stock, We both had drag radials.
He ran 11.82@120
I ran 11.92@115.5
This was our best runs of the day, so if he is stock you should get him. He weighs 3900
Read this article on a test of a 07GT500

Ahhhh... the day I get to **** on Clarkson's grave for that I've been arguing with some guy on TG's website about the dyno results. His opinion is pretty much that Shelbys are crap because they don't offer 500 rwhp from the factory "as proven by Top Gear". Well the 07-09 cars anyway.

The 500 hp rating is at the flywheel NOT the rear wheel.
American cars always rate their hp numbers at the flywheel.
So 440 rwhp would actually be higher than 500 at the flywheel accounting for parasitic loss.
I raced a GT/CS with my car... not sure if it was a 2012, but it was brand new. He didn't beat me. He wasn't actually really that close.
I have an '06 with a GT500 drivetrain so I'm actually lighter than the CS I believe... but in any case that was the result.
If your friend is on stock Goodyear tires then yeah he'll likely have traction issues... if not then he probably won't at stock HP level.
I didn't have traction issues really until I did my blower swap... now it's fairly crazy with traction all the way through 3rd, but if he knows how to drive it won't really be an issue even then.

Also 500 x 0.12 = 60. 500 - 60 = 440. And your "Shelby" is around 4k lbs so at least 300lbs heavier.
Nvm just noticed you said "Shelby drivetrain"
