What would be the advantage of an adjustable swaybar over the stock one?

 

it would allow you to adjust the handling.. over/under steer as well as the squat under hard accel in the rear

 

Vsop pretty much has it. Adjustability allows you to dial in the vehicle the way you want, not the way Ford wants (understeer).

Many who have done swaybars will tell you it’s a great suspension upgrade…especially if you have already done springs.

Is this for front and rear?

 

Yes both front and rear bars. There will be two different kits available.

Kit 1 will be a 4-way adjustable 1-3/8” front bar and a direct replacement 7/8” rear bar. Bushings included

Kit 2 will be the same 4-way 1-3/8” front bar, but the rear will be a 7/8” 5-way adjustable. Bushings and hardware included

I will have the specifics on Monday, but expect Kit 1 to be under $300 shipped...not sure about Kit 2 yet.

This is going to be a fantastic deal for fantastic parts.

 

Can someone tell me what the oem front and rear sizes are?

 

According to the Ford Source Book I have in my office, the front stabilizer bars are 34 mm for the GT, while the rear bars are 22 mm for the GT. Now if only someone can convert this to inches.

 

Hey Brian, am I going to still feel a difference with this setup, even with the stock springs? I have no plans to lower my car, but wouldn't mind better cornering. Let me know. Your 1st package price estimate sounds VERY enticing.

 

Sway bars make a huge diffrence in the driving of the car. Which is why I am still running stock. I have not been able to make up my mind on which sway bar set to go with as they really need to match your suspension/car.

Now that there is an adjustable setup coming out I might go ahead and get them now. Before I did not want to have to buy 3 diffrent sets of swaybars to find out which one worked best for my car and my driving style..

 

05fordgt…yes, you should be able to feel a noticeable difference. When entering a corner or during an emergency lane change you will notice that the car is much more responsive and doesn’t lean as much as it currently does with the stock swaybars.

The stock front is 34mm (1.3396”) and the rear is actually a 20mm (0.788”), at least that is what my factory swaybars measured (2007 Mustang GT)

Kit 1 would work best for 90% of the Mustang owners out there. However if you track the car or are extremely sensitive to the overall feel and level of handling go with Kit 2.

 

 

Would I be able to install the swaybars correctly myself with the car on jackstands or do you think I should have my performance guy do it at $65 per hour? I'm a little nervous since the front is adjustable.

 

Very easy to do on stands…I did it myself in about 2 hours with lots of part cleaning. All you need is some jack stands and a 15mm and 18 mm socket. Start with the 2nd hole from the back of the front bar (Eibach). If you feel that the front needs to be stiffer move it up a hole.

You don’t even have to remove the wheels with this install. If you have more questions on the install just ask.

 

Like monkey said...very easy. The key is the front bar adjustment. it all depends on what you are looking for. If you want understeer only use the back hole. Neutral seems to be the center two holes...depending on your suspension.

I have Steeda ultralites and the second from the front hole is being utilized. This works great for me.
